Ethan Hughes won a couple of AMA Regional moto's in June of 2018 and thought he was on the way to the National Championship at Loretta's. A few weeks later he wasn't feeling well, then a couple of more weeks he was diagnosed with Leukemia.

Immediately he started an aggressive 9 month weekly battle of intense treatment. It almost killing him! Including a stroke as a result of medication. Good news prevailed and there was no more sign of leukemia.

Ethan then started the maintenance phase of treatment, which is once a month and a lot less dosage. Maintenance will be complete January of 2022.

He started riding back in June and then racing in late August in the AMA District 20 Championship Series. He ended up winning the Open Amateur Championship. Next was the AMA State Championship at legendary Swan Raceway in Tyler Texas where he finished 3rd in Open Amateur and 2nd in College Boy.

Ethan is an amazing young man now, and an inspiration to us all!

He has several people and companies that have helped his return to racing.

Congrats. That's awesome. He needs to talk to Destry Abbott who went through a very similar ordeal.

This is so nice to see. I hope he lives out every dream he has ever had. When my son was 12 He was diagnosed with AML Leukemia and after a bone marrow transplant he is now cancer free. Unfortunately he will never be able to ride again because the Chemo and radiation took a toll on his body.
