Wow, That's amazing how fast he can jump back on the bike and run that pace.

Yes sir, I am. Started riding at Woodhill the same time as you. I remember you could ride along Muriwai beach to the bombing range (sand dunes) back then. aargh the good old days.

you can still get there from Muriwai, but not Rimmers road anymore, some people go in from south head as well,

Its a hell of a lot better maintained than it ever was back then, groomed every week, i am not sure if you saw the video before it was pulled but most of it was filmed near the old car park, you will recongnise the super bowl,

So is "Woodhill" and "The Sandpit" the same place? Is it public or private land? Are organised rides held there, or can you just go and ride anytime?

I have heard of it before but have never known much about it.

Wow, great cinematography! Doesn't look like the friendliest track to come back from injury on Dizzy You'd think he's training for Lommel or something.
Thats how we do it in New Zealand mate, there is nothing like a good sandy tree trail, we have some AMAZING spots near the coast, learn to haul in that shit and everything else is easy Smile

it is the same place sort of, the sandpit is the bikepark thats always open (wed-sun) and woodhill is the whole forest area, there are rides and races in other parts of woodhill as well,

it is private forestry land (carter holt i think) but there has been riding in there as long as i can remember,

Yes, Ben has had a really bad run with injuries, but there is no need to be a wanker about it. You have to respect his will and determination to keep coming back. Hopefully he can stay healthy this time.

I have to be honest I've only watched him 3 times, vs RV at Steelcity & vs RD at Southwick, but he was a different rider earlier this year at Patetonga ( NZ natonal MX ) yeah he was leading comfortably though Cody Cooper & Josh Coppins are hardly slow, but the best I can say is to me he just looked more in control, kinda like controlled aggression vs outright aggression.
So yeah I'd have bet on him getting injured earlier on in his career, now though my gut feel is you'll see a different BT race & damn I hope he gets another AMA shot because my money is he'll do good.

I'd rather put money on Alessi never living up to "the hype". That's a sure bet.

Yes BT is just about my favourite rider and I am very happy to hear he has just resigned to race here in Oz next year.

Really wishing the guy a long run of some good luck.
