He's being smart by making friends with the media. If anything, be mad at the media guys that focus on friends or buddies in their coverage. Might need to get one of those Sketchy shirts.

Currently some of the smartest privateers out there are A-Ray, 722, AJ Catanzaro, Kevin Moranz, Cade Clason. Why? Because these guys are smart enough and well managed to use the media to build a brand. There's also a reason why the media go to them....because they are personable and provide good content. They also have enough talent on the bike to be relevant.

If seeing A-Ray in RacerX bugs you, just click away....

The sport is better for having A-Ray in it.

Hell yes it is. Some fail to remember that dude paid his dues for YEARS without ANY spotlight or results to speak of, he just kept coming back year after year and chipping away until now it's more surprising when he's not in a Main than when he is.

ARay is as moto as it gets.

This thread is a pretty good indication of WHY Alex is able to make a living racing a dirt bike, while others around his speed and level struggle.

There's a small minority of haters for being over-exposed while vast majority appreciate his fun attitude, hard work and hustle. Clearly his sponsors see that value too.
