Optical illusion bro, his jersey is extra light so flaps in the breeze quicker.

My speculation is that, YES bike setup is important for his Alien corner speed, but I think if you put the pieces together, ie wears out clutches, and wants as much bottom end as he can get. That tells me that Eli likes to ride a gear higher than the typical. Not only does this allow the bike to freewheel into the corner with more speed, but then he dumps the clutch while pinned, which will drag the RPM's down, which will put the power into the peak torque area of the power band, and he will have more traction due the lower RPM's.

I know, I know, cool story bro!

It's a breathing technique. He exhales at the apex for improved downforce and traction upon exit. It's all hush, hush stuff.

In the Science of SX segment, his mechanic said that they have to put a brand new clutch in his bike every time he comes back in, as to where Bowers can be on the same clutch all day.

Seems to me that Eli controls the traction of his bike through feeding the power through his clutch, rather than taking the throttle control route.

Someone already mentioned it but Kranz (Eli's mechanic) said they basically put as many ponies as they can possibly get out of the motor because Eli isn't shy when it comes to power.

A lot of riders prefer a smooth easy to ride type motor I'd imagine.

I remember other riders saying they could tell when it was Eli behind them. The sound of that green monster number three
