What do you guys think the AC/ET relationship will be like? I think it will be a good atmosphere for everyone.

I'm a career-long Tomac fan, but at this point the SX title seems a bridge too far. He had it in his grasp in 2017 after his phenomenal mid-season run, then went full Elito Mac at New Jersey and lost it. For all intents and purposes that run in 2017 may have been peak Tomac in Supercross. He has won 14 races since then but I'm not sure he's ever looked as crazy good doing it as in 2017. And he could not get it done then, so I can't really sign off on him getting it done in 2020.

I'm not sure. Not too long ago I read/heard something about how when they were amateurs Suzuki was interested in signing AC but the Tomac's basically told Suzuki it was either Eli or AC. That might not be 100% what was said and who knows what actually happened but it seems at least the Tomac's weren't the biggest fans.

Obviously this would have been quite awhile ago and they are now in very different parts of their careers so I would expect everything to be fine but who knows.

I definitely see the reasoning. I am interested to see if he takes the approach that he used more this season in outdoors and is a little more conservative.

I’ll go with form and say no. Every year he makes big mistakes at crucial times and costs himself valuable points. Even in the outdoor titles he’s won he’s made big mistakes, but in outdoors he has more time to make up for them. Until he shows more consistency both in level of performance and in not making mistakes, I’m out

I’m saying he can get it done, but this is my last year of hope. I’ve been let down too many times before. If Eli can’t get it done this year, i’m all in in believing it will never happen. So if he doesn’t win it, I sure hope it’s kenny who does

Tomac has won 45% of all the SX races over the past 3 years. (including 35% in 2019)

If I was betting, I would take the guy who has been winning almost as much as the rest of the field combined.

He also led 31% of the main event laps in 2019, which was the most.

As much as it would be good seeing him win it, I think he will be top 3 for sure, but I just cant see him winning it, happy to be proven wrong

He's way too good at SX to not win the championship at some point.

I hope he gets it done in 2020. I'd say if he stays healthy he has a good shot at it, needs to work on those starts though, especially for SX.

Hope this is his year but lots of bad can happen in 4mo of prep. He should just stay off the bike until 2wks before A1

It seems like the last 2 seasons everything just went perfect for Anderson and Webb. Not sure how much of that is luck and how much is skill. But it took 3 rounds in 2019 for Anderson's luck to run out. Can Webb keep it going in 2020?

Yeah I think it would be fine. AC is extremely humble and will learn from Eli I think. But if the tables turn and AC is beating Eli week in week out....... whole different ball game! That’s elephant in the room material right there. Commenting about the Suzuki ordeal you mentioned: It would be nice if Eli’s parents would let him leave the nest and do his own thinking occasionally!

Look im a huge kawi/eli fan.but who knows. Eli is so weird. Out of the field, hes the one who should have won it the last 3 years hands down no questions asked. But didnt. Won the most races by a long shot but lost the title due to oddball things happening.

Hes got the mindset down. Hes a 3x champion. Hes capable. He should be the winner

he'll be the oldest first time winner(450 class) if he does.

There's a first time for everything.

Also, how many guys who never won a championship have ever won 6 races at the age he did this year?

Eli's resume is already unique.

I'm a yes, he has had enough years to learn where he's going wrong.
I just hope for him it hasn't become a mental block.
Good luck for 2020

I feel his mindset changed for the better in this years outdoors series. He seemed to be content with taking points on his bad days rather than pushing too hard and crashing. He also came into the last SX season with an injury which put him behind from the get go. I think he'll get it done this year

Crazy to think the past 4 years majority of the people have said "This is the year Tomac gets it done.."
So no.. Id bet Anderson wins another title or a new rider takes the championship this year.

4 years? The last 2 years for sure but no one picked Eli to win the title in 2017... much less win 9 races

I hope AC smashes him, the fan crowded around the kawi rig to see Ac will drive Tomac crazy enough.

So hard to call... To borrow Ralph's favorite phrase, Eli has the chance to "go on a run" and make 2020 his year for SX. However, the past 2 years have looked like a non-traditional changing-of-the-guard and I cannot help but think this trend will continue.

We're going to be treated to a superb SX season boys. How many people on the line at A1 have the potential to win a race?
-Anderson
-Webb
-Musquin
-Roczen
-Tomac
-Baggett
-AC
-Barcia? (Counting him since he won last year, though it's debatable if he will repeat with a win)

What about guys who can win the championship?
-Anderson
-Webb
-Musquin
-Roczen
-Tomac

My personal opinion for who will be in the fight post-Daytona?
-Webb
-Tomac
-Anderson

For whatever reason, I think Musquin will not be a major championship player, and unfortunately I worry about Roczen's health inhibiting his true potential.

But hey, either way, this is going to be one hell of a season!!

Edit: On the right night I can see wildcards like Mookie, Savatgy, Plessinger and Dean competing for the top spot, though not on a consistent basis.

Good post! Something is telling me Marvin is going to go on a run this year...... All the pieces of his life are coming together! But I have a hard time choosing because I am a fan of all of them! Especially JB51 and AP7!

Nope. Nobody has ever won a premier title in SX in their 5th or later year in the class.

Tomac wont break that record, neither will Roczen.
