Monster Energy® Kawasaki Extend Contract with Eli Tomac

Foothill Ranch, Calif. (May 15, 2019) – Monster Energy Kawasaki has signed two-time AMA 450MX Champion Eli Tomac to a multi-year contract extension. Tomac joined the team in 2016 and sits seventh on the all-time 450MX Class win list with 14 overall wins and 27 podium finishes aboard his KX™450 motorcycle over the last three motocross seasons.

“I’m thrilled to continue the relationship with Kawasaki,” said Tomac. “I feel we have an outstanding team in place, an excellent KX450 motorcycle and a common goal of winning races and championships. I’m looking forward to starting off this Pro Motocross season with the crew on a high note. Let the good times roll!”
Tomac has also shown great success in Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship earning 27 450SX wins and claiming the Monster Energy Cup twice including sweeping all three main events in 2018 to earn the “Monster Million.”

“Eli is an impressive athlete and an exceptional asset to the Monster Energy Kawasaki team,” said Kawasaki Senior Manager, Racing, Dan Fahie. “It has been a pleasure working and winning together with him and his family and we’re all excited to continue this relationship and the successful route we’re on.”
Tomac and the Monster Energy Kawasaki team are ready to take on the great outdoors and defend the back-to-back AMA 450MX titles when the season kicks off on Saturday, May 18th at the Hangtown Motocross Classic.

About damn time! Why do they only refer to it as a multi year deal? Is it 2? 3? 4?

Typically because these contracts have extension options.

Now we know why we have been seeing happy Eli even after losing the sx title to Webb.

Was there ever really any doubt he was going to re-sign? Kudos to Tomac and team Kawasaki. Now...go get another national title.

...because Honda had already emptied the checking account for Ken?

...and, the PR actually quotes Eli as saying "Let the Good Times Roll?" yeah right.

Congrats to all the parties involved in the deal, Good to see Tomac sign with Kawi... now go get that 3rd straight MX title and your 1st SX title Smile I always love silly season and finding out where all the riders will land. Now that Ken and Eli are signed, hopefully we start hearing where everyone else lands and don’t have to wait til 10/1.

You could both be right. The exodus and subsequent re-signing probably aren’t mutually exclusive.

When he said awhile back that he was worried supercross would be done before they could get some good settings I figured he resigned. I also think part of him being happier is it looks like he’s now happy with the bike.

I️ bet one of the things it took to get him to re-sign was the departure of a certain someone. Both his results and mood improve once that happened.
