Art had many "Eckman-isms" over his moto career...we used to have drinking games about Art screwing up.

They're going bar to bar.........

Yeah man...but the way Art would tell a story and the way he worded his commentating was great and professional!

i remember seeing eckman in the pits at anaheim one year.. he was holding the camera so the camera guy could take a leak.. he was fumbling with something in his pocket and dropped the camera!!! pieces went flying.. he said something like "damnit shit.. not again!" haha.. again??? damn drunk guy

yeah Eckman did have his screw ups, but him and Bailey were the shit, i didn't mind Harris either

Art had his problems but was an actual fan of the sport. It showed. I think Shaheen does a better job covering roadracing than SX/MX.

I've always liked Eckman and he has always been a fan/supporter of MX.

Back in the late 1970's he was a sportscaster for channel 4 in San Francisco and would always mention that there was going to be a Trans AMA or National MX at Sears Point along with some video footage. The only sportscaster in this area that would even acknowledge the sport at all.

Art and DB the BEST by a mile.

I usually just watch the races and let the riding speak for itself, but Eckman said something that made absolutely no sense one day and it stuck in my head eversinse.

It was a supercross race and Eckman was just blabbering out meaningless sentences intermixed with motolingo and he uttered:

"It was the power of the the Jump they tune into that Honda" I thought what does that even mean.

The more time that passes from when Eckman was doing races the better he was.
