Early des nations talk

Listening to pulpmx last night, they brought up the idea of a team of dungey, tomac, and canard on the 250. In my opinion, dropping a 450 rider back down would be beneficial due to the face some of the other 250 riders just can't Handel the pressure like baggett 2012 and tomac 2013 and Martin 2014. I would have to say it'd be awesome to see barcia to drop back down and ride a bike he really knows how again and see dungey and villopoto in the 450 classes, what do you think of the idea of dropping a 450 rider down?

I think j mart rides the 250 just fine I would put my money on him over Barcia anyday

That is more than likely true, I would have to agree with you on that, but say when Martin moves up in a few years, is it a good idea to maybe drop him back down for that one race? I personally agree with that idea

My big question was whether or not Rog would take a champion Eli over Dungey, assuming Villopoto was the MX3 rider. Moot point now.

Didn't Villopoto say he would race the Des Nations?

I think to find the answer to that is just to look back at 2011, dungey lost to villopoto in supercross and outdoors but was still mx1 making villo ride the mx3 class

Personally I think RV is a bad ass on a bike but if his heart is not in it I would rather someone else go that truly puts everything they have in it

As a Barcia fan, I want to see Jeremy Martin get another shot at mxon, im not sure any of the 450 guys could drop down and run with him at the moment.

Now that Tomac is out I would say that Dungey, Martin and Baggett is your best bet

Agree , as things stand Dungey and Martin are two obvious choices , but with Tomac out and questions marks over if RV will come back , the third spot is certainly up for grabs .

Whats the deal with Trey Cannards injury , is he expected to be back this year ?

Wow, I just read the Tomac news. Well in that case I guess Dungey and Martin are obvious choices, the problem is getting another good rider for that last 450 spot - as above I don't know what the ETA is Canards return? Possibly a 250 rider could step up but there isn't many with 450 experience. Zach Osborne could've been a good choice (if he has a great year) but I don't think they'll let him ride for America now. Tricky. I would therefore say someone like Baggett based on his previous MXDN experience and top 5 speed. Much too far off to really judge accurately yet though.

Edit: ^ Based on the assumption that Villopoto may not be back at all, otherwise he'd also be an obvious choice.

For now I would say Dungey/Baggett/Martin

But I can see Canard doing better than Baggett at the end of the season and there goes Dungey/Canard/Martin...

Bagget did not deal very good with mxdn last time. Looked like he didnt know what hit him. I would say Barcia over bagget. He has done Ok at the nations before.

Will js7 be able to race?

Its going to be very hard for any team to beat this combination anyway...

Such a shame we won't see how Tomac squares up to the top GP riders, hope all goes well for him.

1.Dungey,goes without saying

2.Baggett deserves to show his best after 2 MXdN which were not a reflection of what he's capable of,he's turning into solid a top 450 guy

3.Martin is again the stand out US 250 rider,he was running with the front few at last years MXdN before hurting his foot and deserves another chance

France should be as strong as any

1.Febvre is incredible this year

2.Paulin should be upto his true speed but the end of the year

3.Tixier is getting faster all the time, very impressive at last weeks GP and he's Euro based as opposed to Musquin who hasn't done so great previously
