I would like to see the west coast (pacific time zone) rounds start around 5:00pm, instead of 7:30. Mostly from a selfish point of view, as my family and I are normally very early risers, and in bed most evenings by 8:00 at the latest. BTW, I live on the west coast. Would also benefit the people watching the live telecast on the eastern side of the country.
Thoughts? Opinions? Mindless Vital babble on the topic, anyone?

It is. It's starting at 6:40 for opening ceremonies and 7:10 for racing. At least that's the last schedule I saw.

I would assume it's for the Super Bowl the next day

I think it's fine they way it is. Plus the opening ceremonies wouldn't be as cool if it was sunny outside.

My wife is the general manager of the local Weenie Hut Jr, and I buss tables there.Tongue
Actually, we just both work jobs which start very early in the morning. Doesn't make much sense to alter our schedules a bunch on the weekends, only to have to try to change back on Monday morning.

Don't worry grizz is a weenie himself. I didn't have dvr until about 2 months ago so I always hated missing any racing before. So I kind of understand where your coming from wanting them to start earlier. But trust me dvr is the way to go. Then you can keep the races and watch whenever you want.

BTW, I was kidding grizz

Just go over your buddies house. Play left right center with some dollar bills. Drink a case of monster or beer and before you know it the mains are already posted on youtube for you to watch.

While you are at it, get the Nationals changed to night races for us Aussie's.
I'm getting too old to be getting out of bed at 1:00am Sunday mornings.

Like us, you just need to learn to deal with it Bro.

For selfish reasons too, I am also asking NASCAR to air east coast races LATER in the day due to the inconvenience of us west coasters. Drinking beer at 9AM just ain't right.

I'd prefer they do races Monday through Friday, but that ain't gonna happen, either.

I'll tell you what. How about if I get them to start at 4:00 California time for every east coast round? I think I can swing that.

I'd like to see the East coast races start at 7am ET. Since the West coast makes me stay up til 130am, it's only fair.

I don't see it as a horrible idea. They adjust stick and ball starting times to get in better prime time slots. Therefore maybe getting higher TV ratings.

When the races start on the East Coast at 10:30 pm it does end up getting late. But then again the West Coast doesn't even know there is an east coast.

That's alright. There are some of us that don't even care that there's a west coast. No coast is best coast. Tongue

Everyone STFU and GuyB get rid of this thread. Its perfect the way it is and for the one or so that don't have dvr and can't stay up late and I'm sorry go cry to your mommy. Or better yet just go buy a dvr

No, you couldn't be further from the truth about me. You will never find a stronger supporter of private property rights. And, I have no idea what that had to do with the original topic.
