After all these years finally looking into getting an ez up for hot days at the track. With so many options just wondering if anyone had any recommendations?

Just pick a color. There’s expensive ones that will last forever, and cheap ones that won’t. I have a cheap one and it’s lasted 10 years.

Advice, try not to loan them out. They’ll never be returned in the same condition.

One you can put down/up by yourself.....

Jokes aside I have a $70 one from academy that's uv resistant and has lasted for 4 years going to the beach with it.

Go to dick's sporting goods and buy 3 of the $50 ones. They're going to rip, they're going to blow over. BUT 3x the shade bro.

Agreed 100%. I’ve learned my lesson on loaning them out. It won’t happen again.

I have an EZ-UP Vantage and I love it. 3 year warranty and the bag even has durable off road wheels on it.

Caravan makes a decent 12x12

You need one with the cross bracing. Sams and Costco have them for around 200. Last for years. The cheapo ones with the angled legs often fail in the first breezy day. You don’t need to spend a grand on one, but you need to get out of the cheapo units

I have an original one, got it in 1995 and it still is alive. Dirty canopy showing its age and a few bent braces from wind picking up and floating it across the parking lot but it still works. Buy a good one to begin with.

As mentioned stay away from the $50-$75 dollar ones with angled legs. Surprised if they will last one use. Saying that, don't need to spend $500 on one. I paid around $125 for one at a sporting goods store that has good bracing and good storage bag. Still working going on 5 years. The wife even has used it for friends rummage sales and put it up herself, didn't need a Keefer to help put up or take down...

I’ve always got a cheap one from Walmart. They’re good for a couple of years and just replace when something breaks. Go ahead and throw the bag away because they’re a pain in the ass to pack up

What ever you do don't park by Mathis, he won't help you put it up

Go to Action Sports Canopies! I’ve worked with them for 6 years now. They are an awesome company and great people that support the sport. And the canopies are high quality and they can do any custom logos you want on them. I have some canopies from 2015 that did the entire SX and MX series and they are still going strong.

Also if you go with them I have a discount code to save you some money. I believe they were doing the code Chiz20 so try that. Either way just mention my name and it will save you some money! You won’t be disappointed with them.

Are you using the steel or aluminum frame?

Impact Canopy. Prefer the aluminum frame but either is great.

RTIC was running a special a few months they seemed pretty decent

Another vote for Impact Canopy. I worked with Aaron and he was very helpful and gave me a nice price on a custom canopy. Although expensive, I don't see it ever wearing out.

I got the $50 Wal-Mart special and it works out fine for me! Just make sure you get better stakes. I always just tie it down to my truck bed/gas tank. I don't have any issues storing mine.

I have had the same 10x10 EZ UP for about 10years now. I didn't go cheap as I have in the past hoping that it would last. It's been great, bought another recently. Now rockin' a 10x20 pit space.

|

Just don't go 12x12. The length of the beams makes it unsuitable for anything stronger than a very light breeze. I have a 10x10 straight leg that has been great! Very durable.

Buy it right, buy it once. I have a nice original EZ-UP brand and it goes up and down as well as it did when it was new. (over 10 years old.) Was it expensive? Ye. Was it worth it, Yes. My buddies continue to buy the cheap-o ones and have trouble with them, it seems like they get tweaked easily.

We buy ours from Impact Canopy. They're much heavier and use hexagonal legs that dont bend as easy. Not cheap, but they're friggin tough

In any event tie the damn thing down. Everyone is sick of someone’s ez up landing on top of there rv or truck and trailer. Common curtesy people don’t get.

I try to find a decent 8x8 on sale and keep one in staging in the garage ready for the day the one we use most to break.

Just saw this though! Caravan looks like a legit brand.

I recently picked up the cheaper Eurmax 10x10 for $135 and it's pretty nice. For the money, that pro with the hex legs looks damn good.

Get a good durable frame that’s got tie-down points (some folks use stakes).
Learn how to tie it down
Learn when to take it down

Good Luck!

I ripped a start from Egypt and I was happy about that.
