I am looking for a 10x20 popup, ez-up tent for races. Does anyone have one that they recommend? I see SS Shades (http://www.ssshades.com/canopies/) offers heavy duty ones but want to see if anyone has any suggestions before going with one or the other.

IMO they're all huge pieces of shit. Get the cheapest one you can find that way it doesn't hurt the wallet so bad when it gets broken.

The best canopy is the one that Alias makes. Well, they don't make it. someone makes it for them, and whoever it is that produces those with that design is the best. The legs are a 6 sided design. Very robust. I'm not suggesting you buy the Alias (it's a bit over priced), I'm suggesting you find out who makes it, and go directly to them. someone on here will know what im talking about.

Dont waste your money on the cheap shit, spend the money on a good one and then be smart enough how to secure it properly and know how to take care of it. I have a original 10x10 EZup with the heavy canvas top and it is still going strong 20 years later and the frame is still tight.

People who are too stupid to tie them down the correct way are the idiots you see chasing there canopies across the pits because the wind came up,buy a good commercial quality and take care of it and you will be fine. I have only had EZup and a good 10x10 is around $500 if you get walls and such. I am guessing a 10x20 quality canopy will cost $700+ but you get what you pay for. https://www.ezup.com/ but if you shop around you can find deals.

I bought a cheap 10x10 ($60?) from Walmart 7 or 8 years ago- Use it all the time (race track, parties, sun shade for the kids pool..etc) thing is still in perfect shape. BUT I take care of it and always make sure to tie it down when windy..

Even the best EZup will go to crap if not cared for or tied down correctly.

For $500 you can buy 6-7 Walmart "EZups" and a Canopy Cool kit..Wink

10x20's are not the nicest tents to deal with. I had 4 of them for our pit area when i ran a bmx team. Get more than one 10x10 and you will be better off. I dont remember the brand Free Agent uses, they are the same as the FLY and AXO frames. Well built, heavy duty. I have 2 FLY and 2 AXO 10x10's now and it is much easier to setup than the big ones

I haven't been on EZups website in years and could not believe all the different models they have now and not near as pricey. Back when I bought mine they had two choices and I got the commercial quality. Do your home work because it looks like the market has a huge amount of choices and brands now, almost as bad as the graphic kit market. Wink

What happened to the 10x20 you brought to Camp Coker?

Interested in this topic too as I need to get one for the races as well. The 10x20's I get through work have some shittastic frames. More than likely just going to buy 2 good 10x10's and be done with it. I don't need a 10x20 for most of the local day trips anyway.

I have a steel frame 10X20 EZ up that I bought in about 1986 and it's still going strong. It's a little heavy, but it's held up really well. The top could use replacing, but the frame is still rocking.

In 1994 I spent $800 on a quick shade (nearly 3 times my weekly wage) and still have it today it runs strong and mist importantly it doesn't sag under torrential rain. The cheap, ones buckle under the littlest bits of tain

I have an aluminum framed ezup. Can't remember if it's 10x15 or 10x20 but I use it all the time. Over 12 years of abuse, I've never actually taken care of it and it's still working great. Frame hasn't broke and all the plastic corners and pivot areas are still intact. It is a heavier canvas and has 2 peaks to it. I'll check to see if it has a model on it. Anyways I highly recommend buying a higher end one.

48 hours after I purchased my first ez-up, it blew across the back yard and folded the legs in half. I was so pissed. I'm on my 3rd one now.

I agree with concept. Buy the cheapest one possible.

There was a good thread about this a few weeks ago. Searching will help you find the solution you need.

I also vote for a cheap one. I bought the cheapest 10x10 I could find about 4 years ago I think paid around $60. I've definitely gotten my money's worth. As long as you make sure to tie it down during wind you'll have no issues.

I just bought a new one and researched and looked at a lot of them. I didn't want another cheap one that breaks. I also wanted to stay under $300. I ended up with an EZ UP vantage and it's pretty heavy built I really like it. Bag and wheels are good sets up easier, it's really good I will eventually get another one too.

My thing is if its so windy my canopy flys away or it rains so hard it sags to the ground, my ass don't need to be at the track anyway, I'll pack up and bounce. Don't worry guys I got a 2000 dollar canopy we can ride out the hurricane in, come on over and party.
