IF, IF all the Americans were willing to go, or their factory teams were willing to send them, Who would you pick?

My team would be

Tomac
AC9
Sexton
My Alternate would for sure be Jmart

BTW, IF the Kawi guys are really boycotting Team USA because of a personal issue with the man . . . might be time to put the Country MX pride first

I was almost positive this would be another Roczen, ferrandis, Jett team.....but at least we've got a shot at dominating the 250s on our 450🤔

Have they ever sent 3 premier class riders? I mean RC did drop down in 2001 to the 125 class to beat Barnett’s record for 1 race in steel city and won… Which also happened to be a the last race of the series after everyone had all outdoors to get their bike tits. I know it’s RC we’re talking about but still.

I’m sure AC could still beat Justin Cooper and would fair well in second motos but who knows how long he will be out. J Mart will probably be out after this season to recover from injury. I’m not big on sending a premier class rider to the 250 class but it wouldn’t be idiotic to send someone like AC to race 250s at MXdN.

My picks right now would be ET, Sexton, and J Mart. Alternates would be Plessinger and Cooper.

I think "The Man" has stepped up and went for this country EVERY time he was asked. At no time would I ever question his intentions, patriotism or expertise. ANYBODY that does is a complete moron (he has a son in the US military)

My choice for WHO we ask the ride for this country is exactly who THE MAN chooses.

If Kawasaki, a Japanese company with no interest for this country to do well at the Des Nations, has a problem with Decoster, then I say it looks like we will never be sending another one of their riders again.

I support the riders and companies who support this race. And will support whatever position they finish with their best effort.

Some of you guys are super pedantic!
You think HRC couldn’t slap some ‘Sexton’ number boards on one of Jett’s 250s??

You think Sexton has forgotten how to ride a 250??

I think somewhere around 1991ish they sent Bradshaw to ride a 125, and he was a premier 250 rider at the time. Someone will need to fact check me on the year though. If memory serves me right, I think Damon did pretty well on the riddler.

For USA I’d send:
Tomac MX1
Jmart MX2
Barcia MX3
I would take J Cooper over J Mart. He’s been more consistent, a better starter and is winning the championship. I don’t think Cooper has been off the overall podium once this year. Martin has a 13, 5 and 8 overall.

Martin does appear to be on the upswing though.

The event has many examples of riders riding different capacity bikes all year with stellar results- check Malin in '94.
Also Demaria in '94, rode a 250 all year and a 500 at the MXDN and won a Moto.

A Star 250 for the 250. Tomac and Barcia. If Tomac can go beast mode and Barcia has a Millville type of ride. I have no doubt we would win. Lots of ifs of course and this kinda talk is ALL hypothetical.

O'Mara in 86 and Hannah 87. Both ride 125's.

My choice would be:
J Mart or Cooper 250F
Tomac (and hope it's one of those days)
Sexton

Punctilious means ‘correct behaviour’.

There is nothing incorrect about an MX1 guy dropping in to the MX2 slot at the MXoN.

Ward, Lechien, and Johnson in '88, with Ward on the 125. I think Ward was the reigning 250(premier) champ that year in MX. Those three were as premier as it got in '88.

BTW, can we just some credit for Wardy winning 7 MXDN titles in 8 years. That's full beast mode.

Riders were tougher and cared more about the pride aspect of Team USA back then.
