Just watched the post-Shougal presser in which Eli mentions that winning the ESPY was cool, but that he was surprised he never heard anything from the ESPY producers. No invite to the event, no livestream acceptance speech or even a pre-recorded "thanks" if he couldn't be there. Hell, he found out that we won when his brother sent him a screenshot. Eli then made his own IG video to thank his supporters. Seems like a rather shitty way to treat ANY nominee much less the guy that won the entire action sport category, which encompasses a ton of hugely popular sports.

Like most awards shows, though, it looks like Tomac would have been wildly out of place with the Hollywood elite sucking themselves off and promoting their woke causes of the week (of particular importance is freeing the "wrongfully" detained chick that brought drugs to Russia, got caught, and plead guilty.) So not much exposure for the sport and a missed opportunity for Eli to show those losers what a real athlete looks like, but probably for the best.

It's ESPN.
The MSNBC of sports broadcasting.

They only recognize guys who play with balls.

Well said, tingo. I stopped watching those clowns a while back when their ridiculous political agenda began to override actual sports discussions.

Like, some of us do.
Why? It's not like anyone outside our sport voted for him or even know who he is. We just basically gave ourselves this award lol So, congrats we got more people to vote than the other athlete's fans...go us.

It’s cool that he won an ESPY; but, ESPN has become nothing more than a Sports Gossip platform for Fantasy Leaguers. On top of all that, if you try to watch that circus that they call a sports channel…? You’ll quickly realize most of the people on there are hair and make-up talking heads that aren’t very smart and have some really silly shit to say that “ain’t got shit to do with SPORTS!”

But….”Hey, that’s just like my opinion, man.” Grinning

We don't need the H-wood poison infecting our sport.

Hudsucker,

Dan Patrick, ESPN personality from a time when ESPN was a actual sports channel talks of a athlete that was invited to a ESPY show. Athlete would not show up to the event, unless we won a ESPY. Of course he was called up on stage and given a ESPY. LOL.

Again, the only people who voted in this category knew about the sport, and the only people who care are in the sport. Not like someone who only likes football is going to feel any different about motocross. If anything, it's like when they put a women's softball mediocre catch in the top 10 plays just cuz they have to.

Eli’s physical appearance and sexual preferences do not do anything to help ESPN promote their agenda. Too white, too male and he knows he can’t get pregnant…

Seriously, lets not draw too much attention our way.....we don't need ESPN or Hollywood getting wind of a bunch of people riding noisy, polluting and quite frankly, dangerous machines. They might all take it upon themselves to fly their private jets to Geneva for some conference on how to put an end to this madness.

Heads down.....keep on moto'ing.

Yeah, if they did, they might do to us what they did to F1.

Not much, but the slur fit. The Rock, Megan Rapinoe, etc.

Side note, Bill Burr's latest special on Netflix is pretty funny. His take on women's sports being equal is spot on. Like everything else, follow the money. The video below is just audio, FYI.

I was actually watching the ESPYs in case Tomac was there and recognized during the ceremony. The whole time I was thinking "if Tomac is actually there, I bet he feels so out of place". That whole event was an absolute waste of time and I'm upset I wasted a night watching it.

Eli's brother is gay and married, with an adopted son and a serviceman in the USAF. But hey, let's just keep our energies focused on cultural issues while the world's real problems are ignored.
