Unbelievably lucky. That break goes all the way and he's in hospital for ages... That jump is silly too. Bet it sucks for a whole moto!

Not to mention he manages to keep the racing exciting and fun with his commentary yet he is so incredibly knowledgeable. He doesn't try to make stuff that isn't exciting seem exciting, which is something that can annoy be about the sx team.

It just feels natural and funny while beeing knowledgeable and exciting. He's doing a hell of a job tbh.

Ktm's known for breaking frames, that point is critical. Also they paint their frames like i could do.. that's not acceptable from ktm. Anyway i'd buy one.. best bike on the market. Decent suspensions, great motor, eletric start, hydraulic clutch..

I just listened to Emig & Carmichael's podcast and Emig said it was the triple clamp that broke. I can't tell from the pic.

I doubt it was the clamp or the stem, because he could still steer. I think the frame crumpled at the top tube and angled the whole head tube out, just like a chopper.

This picture was in the other thread:


The triple clamp seems to be in-tact, as does (surprisingly) the head tube, which has been a location of cracking on some other bikes.

It looks like it let loose on both the downtube and backbone, which would be shocking.

Meh.....

Out of the thousands out there around the planet , the guy breaks one casing a gigantic quad , at pro speed. And on top of that , I had heard it was a borrowed bike as well. Who knows how well it was taken care of and what they were doing with it. Any bike on earth can snap something on something that big. I have no worries on either one of my TC's , as I'll never need / want to hit some big ass jump like that. FWIW , I inspect my frames every few rides , like most should. You never know.
