Don't know if it's been brought up before or not, but just heard a commercial on the radio. Dungy is pimpin' Rockstar for 7/11. Not a big Dungy fan, but I about shit when I heard the commercial start off with "This is Ryan Dungy of the Rockstar Makita Suzuki".
The Shop
Union working conditions? After seeing what these guys look like after coming off the track after each moto, even the most dingy sound booth would be a step up.
At least his name/team are on the radio. A plus no matter what to the MX community.
All the Dungey kids are very respectful, hard working and can ride a motorcycle darn fast.
Those parents deserve a lot of credit, and the kids do a great job with the the tools they've been given.
If it's SAG or AFTRA he'd get a union wage for a 2-hour session and residual payments depending on how it runs. That makes it much more "Dungey and 7/11"; more of a partnership. They run it and he gets paid. They don't run it and he doesn't get paid.
Also, a portion of the earnings would go into a pension and health fund for his retirement and health benefits. There's much more to it, but I'll stop there.
Myself, as a performer, I only work on union projects.
