Interesting to see how thin dungey is compared to previous years, obviously what he's doing is working. But being so thin, is he as strong as he was before working aldon? How does his endurance go with less muscle mass as well?

Seems strange that a guy at the top of such a gnarly sport looks like a twig and can perform the way he does.

I think part of it is the new Fox Flexair gear that is more form fitting to the body.

Yeah, RD's always been slender. But, Aldon is an ex-pro cycle racer and his training regimen tends to promote that type of physical structure for endurance & strength more than mass. Look at "before/after" pics of Villopoto & even (to a lesser extent) RC. Both got considerably leaner under Baker's tutelage.

Yeah, he is very skinny. He's probably around 155 to 160 I bet.

May have been why Stewart & Villopoto both dropped him.

I don't know if I would consider it promoting but those types of exercises are catabolic. You would need to maintain a very high calorie intake to sustain a muscular physique as a long distance cyclist or runner. That's why their muscles look so damn flat. At least this is the explanation according to broscience. Just go full anabolic.

He can always start madcow 5x5 strength routine and go on a permabulk after retirement. Motocross is an endurance sport where mass doesn't matter

Id say 150-155 max. Not that it matters. He will have a long time after moto to add weight. Just ask most of us older guys here about that..

Reminds me of the Johnny O, David Bailey, Bob Hannah, Early Jim Pomeroy/Brad Lackey days when a lot of motocross guys had endurance athlete body types.

I've been around fitness for awhile and have trained with top athletes in all states of conditioning. Saw Dungey shirtless after a moto at Muddy Creek, and was pretty amazed at how much better he looks this year compared to last(no homo). I'm gonna say AT LEAST 165lbs probably more.. Pictures and TV don't do the guy justice as far as muscle mass. Whole lotta lean muscle for an endurance athlete. He appears to have large bones as well. Maybe Ryan will send us a prize if we guess his weight correctly. Grinning

He is like 145. I think in one of those Behind the Dream or Inside the Moto things his trainer asked his weight...he stated 145...and that yes he had ice cream that night.

Lackey was never quite like that my friend. Brad used to let himself go in the off season and gain a few pounds and not follow a training diet of any sort too. None of these guys do that I don't believe.

That's because his jersey is hanging down.

Is it just me, or does this picture look stretched vertically a little bit.
