I agree with Dungey being ahead of RV but figure RV would be right there with the Dunge. RV and Dungey were pretty evenly matched throughout their career but I guess Dungey's longevity was enough to put him a few places ahead. And Stewart had an undefeated season and is 2 positions behind Dungey.

Still one of my favorite races ever to watch.

Is that why they ranked Dungey ahead of RV?

Eli has some work to do if he wants to get on Dungey's level.

It does, but maybe they figure that Dungey is just faster than RV ever was.

RV left 2 450 titles he could have been in contention to win on the table if my memory serves me correct because of injuries at the end of sx.

Surely not McGrath right? I don't recall his outdoors record.

Wasn't his first season on the 450 spent on the couch recovering? That was right around the time he joined up with Aldon and went from pudgy to rail thin.

They spell out Dungy's ranking over Villapoto in the article. Makes sense to me after reading even tho a healthy RV tended to beat him.

+1 on the RV ahead of Dunge debate.

Was never a RV fan really, but if I'm being totally unbiased, RV2 seemed more unbeatable than RD5 was... and the fact that they both raced together, with RV being the more dominate rider during that time, should definitely tip the scales in RV2's direction.

Positively, absolutely 110% obsessed with anything MOTO.

Not to mention the head to head component. There's no way I can put Dungey ahead of RV.
