in the pokey......
From RacerHead:
It has been an interesting and frustrating week as far as news goes for me. First, we got an anonymous tip that Jason Lawrence had a little run-in with the law while he was in Daytona Beach for Bike Week.… Absolutely shocking news, right? I heard about this the following week, but I normally don’t give those rumors a whole lot of credibility unless I have some type of tangible evidence or first-hand account. Then someone sent me the police report from the incident. The West Region Lites points leader was arrested late Saturday night on March 8 on charges of Disorderly Conduct for fighting someone on the sidewalk in the wee hours of Friday night on North Atlantic Avenue. Police were called and Lawrence was detained while the other party fled the scene. He was later released on $250 bail.

The Shop
I heard late night streetfights are a standard part of Ryno's training program. " title="Laughing">
That's kinda what I was thinking.....Gheez, none of this guys got in a scrap growin' up.? Let's ban the youngster for giving our sport a bad name. He's young and has to get through life like everyone else did, cut him some slack.

and I don't think either of you earned a six-figure+ paycheck and represented several multi-million dollar companies.
I don't think comparing our ill-spent youth to that of a professional athlete is even remotely accurate

Anyone who really had "more than 10 disorderly conducts" in their life should be locked away by themselves. That's just a sign of stupidity.
I would pay contingency for arrests, AMA penalties, and $50 every time he says fuck on the podium.
"chrime"? what the...

I was a crazy kid but I can honestly tell you was never arrested for disorderly conduct, let alone 10 times. Maybe after the first 5 they should have thrown you in juvenile hall.
I had plenty of traffic tickets from riding my MX bike on the street to get to the hills and doing stupid stuff inmy truck but I was never arrested for a drunkin brawl on the sidewalk.
Alot of people say he is a typical kid, if so our country is in a world of trouble in about 10 to 15 years.
Pit Row
How long will it be before the crazy crowd starts to put down Canard like they do Dungey cause he's a good kid and thanks God on the podium? I guess guyb has clicked most of those types, sort of..
You broke the 1st rule.
I just hope HILL doesn't have any JLaw wash off on him. I'm older, so "young punk" suits how I feel about him.

ha! x2!
They do it in NASCAR
They expect their participants and athletes to maintain a certain level of decorum and professionalism at all times.

Jump on the kid before we know the story that is always the right answer.
That said, I didn't judge him, I only made a statement
Very true! But i must clarify my comments are not about how bad Jlaw is or this incedent in paticular but a general take on how some percive bad as good. As far a Jlaw or any professional goes, it is not a good idea to place yourself in that sort of situation over and over as some people do and yet each time cry foul, "i didn't do anything". Reminds me of a certain senator that likes to pee with a wide stance and tap his foot in the stall, for his whole life as it turned out. And each time he was in that sort of situation he could explain his way out of it..
As far as "jumping on the kid" its normal to expect the worst when the same type of things happen over and over to anyone, you earn your repution and you also earn respect or lack of it. I don't think he's a total loss or should be clicked but he could try harder to stay clear of trouble if he wants to keep his job, its that simple really.
Mistakes are part of being young. So is being a little reckless. He should maybe keep in mind how his actions may reflect on him professionally, both now and in the future, though. When you're in the spotlight, people are a little less forgiving.
