Not that this is breaking news at this point, but at the beginning of today’s live practice broadcast, Weigandt asked Dungey if he wanted to address any rumors that might be out there. Dungey said that he’s indeed looking at options and that the fire is coming back.

Glad he was able to confirm some of the rumors! to me, with his link to Target & GEICO leaving, it's almost a perfect storm to bring on a "Target Racing Honda"!

So Honda not a done deal. Let the bidding begin! Who's got an extra million laying around? JGR?

I wouldnt come back for just any team if I were him.

I would be very selective. He has less to gain than lose coming back IMO.

There's no doubt in my mind that he can go out there and win

I really doubt it, everyone has gotten faster since he left. The sport hasn't stood still since he retired. He'll still do well but I'd put him in the 4-7 range most races, which is still badass.

hahahahahahahahaha! Only Tomac has upped his game IMO.
Kenny is going slower now than he was in '16-17 in both SX & MX. Everybody else is floating around the level they've always been at. Dunge may well score 4th-7th upon his return, but thats not because the others are going faster.

Next you'll be telling us the bike tech is far better now than it was in 2017..

IMO, He can still podium/win. Marvin can still win races and Dungey is a better rider.

Sure, he's been out of the sport for a while, but he never let himself go. Give him a few races and I think he'll be up front.

Why is Dungey so keen to ride Honda? I thought with his friendship with Big Rodger they could get him to fill the 450 Gas Gas ride. If i were Gas Gas id rather have Dungey than Bam Bam. At least you know the Gas Gas isnt going to start torpedoing boys & starting arguments!! plus Dungey is familiar with the KTM & it was a winning combo

Based on his stats, I would not be surprised to see him with 20 podiums in 2021 either.

Machines evolves a bit but i think the corner speed often stays the same, it is kinda like the physics laws. In my mind the last huge riding evolution was JS7.

Dungey pushed Villo to the absolute limit to be able to beat him. I love Tomac but he's no Villo for the most part, I have no doubt Dungey could come back and be a consistent podium/winner threat

I would be willing to bet that Dungey has ridden with a few current racers and/or compared laptimes, and can get a decent gauge of where he is at speed wise. That's different than race pace, but it would still give him a ballpark idea.

His brother is also on the team. Brand new bike looks good. And it’s just Honda. So clean

I believe that KTM and Rodger was a little butt hurt about his Geico partnership. Not saying they were offering him positions within KTM that he turned down, I bet they just felt betrayed a bit.

For whatever reason, I don’t know if Dungey will ever be back under the KTM umbrella.

His brother Jade is also Sextons mechanic at Factory Honda, which is why he has been riding a stock bike with some team graphics and pipe.

I’d say he’s got a better chance than a lot of other guys who have come back. First he left on his terms and after championship seasons. Not like he was injured and never came back he was healthy and happy. Second, like Carmichael, he didn’t have any Real huge injuries in his career that would be nagging him, so basically
He’s spent the last few years building up his home life and “resting”. Third he still looks to be in great shape and he knows exactly what it takes to win championships, how to get in race shape and manage a season.

Out of the lot of the rest of the field, I’d say he’s a good option. Not burnt out from the last 18 months or so and healthy and ready to win. If he comes back it won’t be a half hearted attempt either, he won’t line up unless he knows he can win. That’s my guess.

I remember him winning with DeCoster on Zooks.
Q.When did KTM start dominating? A. After DeCoster came on board
My recommendation would be for any team Dunge can work with Roger.

So if he's going to HRC does that mean 94 is done? Or will he go to Factory Connection a la Windham?

"Budget's are tight" sounds believable when you hear Dungey say it.
Same thing happens to Stu Baylor and everyone wants to blame his style.

Every year is tough after the budgets are already set, 2020 is a MF.

He parted ways with Factory Connection. He won't be going there.

Under the HRC tent if he can get his own sponsors.

As for K-Roc...

If Dungey can get his own sponsors he can go wherever he wants. He has to be the most marketable guy for a sponsor out there.
