Was mentioned on Pulp Monday a rumor floating around of Dungey possibly racing outside this summer. Thoughts?

|

3/28/2018 2:33 PM

Eh, personally I doubt it.

|

3/28/2018 2:39 PM

He would be training hard and spinning laps by now if true, seems like that would be hard to hide.

|

Potto's coming back too> Dunge just retired again

|

I would love to see that. And why not? If he's finding himself bored, and KTM is willing to give him a chance, go have some fun on a bike.

Just like the pulp "Reed to fill in for Seely rumor". Matthes is high

De-Bunked. Rumor got started because he's helping KTM do outdoor testing.
Would be awesome to see him and/or RV come back though.

RV vs Dungey in the 125 dream races would be sweet.

So the guy who got out of his contract early so he didn't have to race the outdoors is coming back a year later so he can race the outdoors? It'd be awesome to see but I am very doubtful.

Do it Dunge! Good warm up for MXdN...Red Bud!!

Barely see him even representing ktm. Never a badge on that shirt when he’s on tv.

If I were him I'd go to the gp series. Ez money honey. Last year Dungey raced Tomac, Tomac had him covered. He'd at least podium every round in the gee pee's if not get the w

It’s possible. Not likely though. But he was kind of burnt out when he retired. I’ll compare him to a rider we all love. Kevin Windham. He was getting burnt out too and then he broke his femur. Sat out well past recovery time. Took a lot of time to himself when he could have been racing. Sat out all but the first few SX rounds in 02 (then broke his femur). Sat out all of 02 MX. Sat out all of 03 SX. Then decided he wanted to race again and returned to racing in the 03 MX opener. This was a blessing for Windham. The injury gave him a break from the grind and allowed him a lot of leisure time. Dungey has had the same, without the injury obviously. Maybe after the time off he has that drive again? He’s definitely young enough to have several more productive years. If he wants to ride, I guarantee you KTM has a bike for him. He’d still be a top contender. Like I said, I’m guessing he won’t, but if he did, I wouldn’t be surprised.

Honestly, I see JS7 showing up before RD5.

I'm not trying to throw fuel on the fire (and I don't see it happening), but this was during Saturday's track walk.

Haha thanks. I just noticed last couple times he’s been on tv. Maybe “monster energy supercross” trumps the Ktm badge.

When you're on the track not doing TV, it's the On The Track Not Doing TV uniform. When you're on TV, it's the TV uniform.

If there was ever a situation where coming back could work, this would be it. But I seriously doubt it.

Too bad. Obviously still has extremely low body fat and looks to have razor sharp mental focus as well. Nice shot of the Champ.

I'll add my vote to the "yes I would like to see him come back" column but......... I don't see it happening.

Positively, absolutely 110% obsessed with anything MOTO.

3/28/2018 6:20 PM

If anyone could do it I would go with a Dungey. He looks in excellent shape and is in his prime

|

3/28/2018 6:21 PM

Looking rather chisled for a retired guy. I could see it. Hell he even had a hard time talking about not being out there...

How about just Millville? Didn't he always use that race as the primary promotional tool for his charity event?

Since this post is here now, the rumor I heard at Indy last weekend was Dunge coming back to SX in 19.
I rode the elevator up with him before the show and forgot to ask.
I didn’t hear outdoor, I heard Supee.
Keep in mind, Pulp wasn’t at Indy.
