Double goggles question...

So I saw some video of Ferrandis putting on his 2 sets of goggles and the 2nd set looked almost thinner, maybe with less foam? Anyone have the scoop on this? It seems like that would make sense. Are they a custom goggle, standard, or do they just have the foam removed?

I noticed it as well. My assumption is it's a standard goggle that they not only trimmed the foam off, but also cut down the goggle frame as much as possibly to make it thinner.

he gave my son that first set (the untrimmed ones) as he came in off the moto his bike blew. i've never seen as much tape used for waterproofing the edges of the tearoffs as they have. he has strong mud vision game.

also, he and his wife were INSANE nice and first class with my two boys, much respect to them.

It looks like it was shaved down to more or less just a lens, kinda like a big tearoff

They looked like Youth goggles to me. Smaller frames and thinner foam. And wouldn't it be easier? just unbox a $29 set of kids goggles instead of hacking up a $100 pair to make them the same size.

Trey Canard did the same in the past

I like DF set up better than TC. seems like DF way you can wear them past the first turn. Actually use some tear offs from the topmset. Maybe get ya a few extra laps.

^^That's exactly what I was thinking, cut out the foam frame and the ribs that hold it so just the main lens frame is there. Also I would tape the inside of the band where the non slip rubber is and tape a huge tab on the middle back strap for easy pulling off without messing up the main goggles.
