Let first say, Vegas of the past year was the best race I have witnessed and I’m enjoying this red bull event just as much. Love the 2 stroke class, love the sound of Villopoto’s bike, love stank dawg the ultimate 2 stroke warrior. Got to ask others opinions, is it staged? If not...great, but it is interesting to see the 2 in the final over who else were in the class.

Edit- hope not because it has been bad ass for both the uncle and stank.

He's saying that it's laughable to even ask that. There is no staging in racing , and that is what we saw tonight. Not bagging on you.....but no , not staged.

I think it's possible Sipes was handed a check to take a dive in the 2 stroke class. Who cares, it was a great show. That's what Red Bull was after.

If it was staged Ronnie Mac would have won. Short track evens the field in my opinion. Awesome racing and fun to watch.

How much would someone have to pay you to intentionally come up short on a 100+ foot quad to throw a race on purpose?

Yeah I was so confused about why he hit the kill switch and why they said it was a malfunction, like really? Anyone that rides could see how misleading that was.

Got it now. It was a great show and enjoyed it. Just saying there were some “um really” moments in the 2 stroke class. Starting with tapia and the some cased jumps by sipes all of the sudden. Either way I enjoyed it and thought about bringing it up. Still wish CR could have lined up with Poto.

Who cares? Well, this isn't WWE here, or at least it isn't supposed to be.

Were the casinos taking bets on the racing last night? If so, they sure as shit would care...

Did you buy a ticket to watch in person? Everyone that paid to watch should care.

Do you care about the sport? If so, you should care to see it not turned into WWE.

I know straight rythem wasnt but Years ago i was called to race a halftime mx race inbetween some monster trucks at our local stadium. I felt honored to get called and was thinking it would be great to show my local friends how good i was at moto. Then the promoter told me i would be finishing 8th and had to let guys i was lapping every week beat me. It was all staged. I was like no way am i going to purposely ride like a goon in front of my friends and family that have heard of my racing ability all my life and then i have to act like a spode the first time they all saw me in person. Nope.
Kind of wish i did though looking back. Lol

I don't really care about the authenticity of the sport of straight rhythm. My first thought when RM69 made the semi was that if it was me I'd pay Sipes twice what the main pays to have a bad run or two. I don't know if that happened or not and I don't care. It was a great show and RM69 hauled ass on that POS whether it was 100% genuine or not.

You should have just agreed to get 8th then go out there and ride to your potential. Did they make you sign a contract saying you would get 8th or something?

I rode this back in the '90's with a few buddies. It was a paid invite thing, packed stands, autograph session the works. Then the promoter said we were supposed to go all "quad wars" with fake racing & staged fights. The quad riders were all in but we got together on our own and nixed it for bikes. We all just went out and raced. I get it's a show but I wasn't down with the sickness I guess....

Dude, you really think Sipes is going to case the biggest quad of the entire track on purpose so Ronnie can win? Seriously?? People really think someone has enough bike control and talent to purposely case a 100 foot gap just bad enough to not get hurt but still throw a race.

I Totally would have tried to talk the other riders into that nonsense, so I could try to win!

I was out practising one time and Jared Smith, another 500GP guy was there. We both did our motos and afterwards both of us went out just play riding. We came upon each other and started messing around. We were only going 75% and I'd 'block pass' him, then let him by, and he'd do the same to me. Then we'd do the jumps side-by-side. We did this for about 20 minutes. It was great fun, and completely spontaneous and un-planned.

Afterwards some people came up and said it was the best racing they'd ever seen. They didn't realise we'd only been mucking around!
