Does the MXON prove it's 95% rider and 5% bike?

History seems to prove that a good rider can overcome being asked to ride the "smaller" engine, 2t or 4t.

If you let them ride whatever they want would results really change?

The totality of MX is 95% rider and 5% bike. Simce the MXDN is part of the totality, then yes, it does.

I think factory bikes are within 5%-10%, so, yeah, rider being the rest. But, put a factory guy on an old hodaka, it becomes the other way.

A lot of percentage is on Luck. You can't just depend on your own race results , you have to depend on other's as well. And even " if "you win......doesn't mean you won't get landed on , on the finish line jump , and finish your entire race weekend in the hospital.

Yeah....a lot of variables.

Yep, I agree 5% bike, as long as the bike doesn't actually slow you down.

No, you are not in 2007. But Cairoli had a 250 too at that time.
Cairoli won overt the 450's in 2006, and Langston did it with a 125 in 1997, if I remember correctly.
Paulin won his first race on a 450 in Franciacorta 2009.

Mx of Nations is very emotional, so I think that is the most important factors if you feel the importance of the race for Motocross History. If you are ET you may not :D

Where is the best place to even find stats on something like this?


I just get so tired of hearing so much whining about separating bikes into different classes because it's not fair.

2007 may be the pinnacle of smaller bikes, since it was the only time anyone beat the big bikes soundly in both motos on the smaller machine.
