Does and dont's of motocross gear

Edited Date/Time 10/18/2018 2:17pm
I have been making my own motocross gear for a while, and i was trying to get peoples opinion on gear. What makes you buy the gear? Looks, comfort, cost,or durability?

I buy whatever's cheap and looks good, usually 2-4 sets on closeout at a time. I usually get tired of my gear before it wears out so durability is not an absolute priority, but I tend to buy high-end stuff most of the time.

What is a reasonable price range you shoot for?

Durability #1 as I know I am gonna be laying on the ground at some point and I don't want my pants torn too shreds after one get off.

Are you looking to make/sell some gear? What ya got going on? I've been wanting a jersey that's wind proof only on the front (i know Fly makes one).

I only buy gear with cats on it. That's my only requirement. Nothing else matters.

I look for lightweight because it's cheaper to ship to GBR for cleaning

Here is what i got going. Lightweight 4 way stretch main body fabrics with lots of venting. The stuff is very comfortable and seems to last really well (only in sample stage). Just seeing if i should go with the comfortable lightweight fit, or make it a little more durable and stretchy for the average guy!

Just drop some acid before you pick out the fabrics and throw them together. That should get you on an even playing field.

If this is a legit post, I have to give the guy some credit because he’s trying.

Do you have any photos of the gear in full, not just sections?

Id buy pretty much anything kawi green, especially a solid green jersey. So many companies are making flo yellow and theres only a few making kawi green. Good luck with the process, the gear looks good on the track.

I like gear that looks "clean." Something that doesn't have a ton of crazy colors and shapes and stuff. Unfortunately for gear companies, everyone has different tastes. Some people like the flashy bright colors. Obviously comfort and price are huge too.

should see the snowmobile forums i'm on. theres a guy that has a "burning snowmobile gear" fetish....and its legit..not a guy just trolling. He begs for people to send him old riding gear....and he burns it. Strange people out there.

btw kudos to original poster. i like the gear and stab hes taking at making his own gear.
