I'm pretty sure that team USA doesn't even show up in Assen after yesterdays embarassment.

Eli was the fastest in the USA, not the world.

Calling him at the same speed as Jeff is not only laughable because he's not even close but doing it while discounting all the other top GP riders who would whoop his ass in the sand says only one thing to me.

Let go of that last little strand of hope and ignorance please, let it go and accept the fall.

Americans are not at the top of the chain or close. No doubt that at some point they will find the top again, no doubt at all but it's not now or in this decade.

I sincerely doubt the riders think like this.

That would be a very sad world and would truly isolate American mx.

I can name quite a few riders that are better in Assen sand than Tomac, included Roczen and possibly Musquin. Herlings, Coldenhoff, Cairoli, Desalle, Van Horebeek, Paulin, Prado and Simpson for sure.
I do hope USA sends a team. Preferably with guys up to the task (sand riding which is a different discipline).

He won’t come anyway. He refused to until it was in his country then got spanked anyway so he’s not going to race a sand track that most of the Europeans are much better at. There’s not one american rider that I can think of that will do really well at assen

Assen will be carnage. You have to add Gajser, Bobryshev, Jasikonis and Kjer Olsen to this weekends line up. Maybe Jonass if he finally wants to enter after years of absence.

Listen to Matthes post race pod with JT and Wheeler (about 17 minutes in to the podcast).

I agree with JT. It will be absolutely pathetic if USA don't line up at Assen. Way, way worse than any defeat on any track. A team with Osborne, Covington (he did really well in this years MX2 race at Assen) and then Barcia/Anderson should go. I assume that Tomac wont line up.

If I remember correclty:
Nobody was interested to be on team USA except for Carmichael.
Then the excuse came there was no funding to send a team.
Pastrana wanted to join the team and would pay for it but that never happened either.

Neither Tomac or many of the other top Americans will want to go. And I bet Roger is done as well on his own terms. Its not a goal or in the wheelhouse of our riders. Sorry but this is my opinion.

Opposite of that, Ricky was moving to suzuki, didn’t want to go as he was switching brands.
Once Ricky was out no one else wanted to go, Kevin was next best and didn’t like sand or flying, only other rider was James who’s life was all about January 8th 2005.

Honestly no one seems more offended then all the Euros especially the Brit's that posted all the trash talk on this page about the US . You would think the Brits have been winning all these races by all the talk, but like I posted in another thread they have 1 win in 50 years.
What can you say we got smoked yesterday. It happens you Brits should know that better than anyone.
Don't worry the US will be there next year.

Listening to the Pulp show David Vuillemin said he's heard that they will bring in more dirt instead of sand. Who knows if that's true but I would be disappointed if so, most don't like Assen but I think it's a pretty cool race.

I doubt it, but it depends on what day the Monster Cup is, and if there's a USGP.

If there's a USGP and less than 3 weeks time before MEC, I say no.
If there's no USGP and roughly 3-4 weeks prep time for MEC, I say yes.

Tomac was pretty damn good at Kegums (diff style of track I know), but Tomac can definitely hold it wide open in the sand. I'd imagine a pretty solid team for next year (in deep sand) could be Tomac MXGP, Covington MX2, and Osborne Open. I want to say that team can challenge for a win, despite the deep sand.

Outside of Tomac that team is no where near the best USA could send.
You sent the best you could send on paper this year and were nowhere near. You need to pick for the conditions. Covington has won races and podiumed in the sand in GP's. You have to remember you're racing against what is really a GP MX2 field, and Covington has already shown he is a threat in that field. Team USA would be foolish to not pick him at Assen.
