Does Shorty have a chance to stay red in 2011?

I am betting he will easily be top five maybe top three when the dust settles from the 2010 nats. If He doesn't stay red, where will he go? His deal is up, right?

Shorts good but man he just hasn't been able to really win or find that extra speed. He's consistent but I honestly don't think he will be re-signed. Too many young guns coming up.

I don't think he'll be able to keep his ride. Furthermore, I think he'll have a hard time finding a factory ride. That is sad. The guy has finished top three in every series he's participated in for the last five years except three. Two of those he got injured in SX and one he finished 4th. He's a solid podium contender. Problem is, he's not a regular threat to win.

Probably the only guy more consistent than him is KW. Maybe it would make good sense to get him on that Factory Connection team with KW and LaRocco mentoring. He could use a little of Mike's aggression. I don't understand how RC always bags on the guy for 'running it in on a guy.'

He's one of my top three favorite riders and I hope he can keep his factory Honda deal but I expect them to clean house by the end of the summer.

Honda's track record only rewards championships, not consistency. Look for all brand new faces in the Honda camp next year.

I think he'd be a good investment for KTM. Not a proven winner, so KTM won't loose out if he doesn't win, but a consistent strong finisher who can get them plenty of publicity.

I think Shorty is a good investment for any team. Except for the not winning part he's a perfect rep for any corporate sponsor. The most consistent guy (as far as top 5's) in the sport the last 5 years, great attitude, always smiling and more importantly the guy seldom gets hurt. Not to mention the guys web site is turning into a andrew short promotion machine which also promotes whatever bike he's on.

Erik Kehoe likes guys that can be top 5 every season, not top 5 here and there and crashes out.

I think Short's great but it seems crazy that he gets more credit for being strong and consistent but Millsaps wins a few races. I hope both guys get good rides and keep charging.

If I am Honda, I sign him up for another 2 years, or I drop some extra $$$ in the FC team and let him ride with KW. He is almost the perfect guy to have on your bikes. The only thing avoiding him is the win.

Teams want guys to put it on the box and be top 5 at the end of the year. They want that guy that can win (Canard) but they also want a solid larocco type that can be there every round (Short)

Short should have wins in the double digits, there's something mental that's keeping him in second. He's not the first rider like that, and he won't be the last. Wish he could break through it. He's a solid second rider ala Ferry. I say he gets another year.

I was thinking, when I wrote the post that he really would be a smart guy to have on the Factory Connection team. Seems like a perfect fit.

I think short will be resigned. I believe he has done a lot for redbull honda and he deserves it. He's easy going, good personality, and a very consistant top 5 rider

I think he will stay with honda. He's been with them his whole career and is a good promoter for them. And he is also becoming a fan favorite because of his cool personality

As people have mentioned, why Short hasn't won a whole lot of races yet is a slight mystery, but that doesn't matter anyway. You just cannot not like the guy, he's awesome. You meet the friendliest people on a Honda, right? Smile

Short should be replaced to give Davi a stronger teammate to help push him. There are several riders out there that deserve a chance at a factory ride.

So Honda needs to replace someone with resullts, on average, better than Davi's in an effort to get Davi better? Am I reading that right?

I hope Shorty gets resigned w/Honda. He is a excellent rep for the company, always in the running, has a great website. He may not win a championship but there are ONLY 2 of them to go around each year. He is not afraid to get aggressive, which I like ALOT. That's why I like Barcia. Call me old school, but I remember when racing was racing, not being afraid of a little contact. BANG THOSE BARS. Will never forget THE MAN and HURRICANE @ dilla - forget the year - 77 or 78 trans-am most likely - they banged a whole moto - both bikes were trashed at the end of the moto - crushed pipes, bent pegs, missing paint. EPIC.

Geico's riders contracts are done with Honda's approval. They have allot of input on the riders.
