Does Malcolm Stewart and Vince Friese deserve a factory ride?

These two are arguably the most consistent non-factory riders in the 450 class. Given, they are on a very (if not the most) supported team. If their results for this season lie as is, would their results justify a 2021 SUPERCROSS (not outdoors) season factory ride? Would a factory ride actually make them progress in the stacked class?

I would like to see factory honda supply with more parts. Similar to how they were Brayton last year, or do how KTM is with Rocky Mt. Ktm.

I dont think anything about the Smartop/MCR Honda team is holding either of these 2 back, they’ve got really good equipment, team manager, staff and an owner willing to do what is necessary.

The only way I think the team could help the riders progress more is partaking in the outdoors.

They may be deserving, but doesn't mean there are factory rides to offer.

Tap the brakes, it's round 2.

My thought is if something isn't broken then why fix it. I'd like to see them partake in outdoors as well.

What’s your thoughts on Bogle then?

I’m pretty sure Malcolm finished in front of Brayton last weekend.

Are you being sarcastic, I can't tell?

Factory rides shouldn’t go to anyone who doesn’t race the outdoor nationals IMO.

I believe Bogle is in the right place right now. The Rocky team seems to fit his talent level as of right now perfectly. However, he is dealing with a chronic fatigue draining illness that prevents him from his full potential. I believe he may have some healing and progress to make in order to deserve a factory ride someday, but for now, he is in a good spot.

Brayton is riding for factory Honda, and isn't riding the outdoors.

This is directed towards supercross, not outdoors.

No such thing as deserved in this sport. It’s earned.

No much better to spend the money on some amateur to race 3-4 big races a year...

I hope your right... this might be his last shot.

What factory team doesn’t show up for outdoors?

He will be replaced by sexton. Sexton still has a season on 250.

They currently have the rides they deserve. Should their results change, the factory teams will come knocking.

Stewart will get more help if he continues to perform this level. Factory ride will give him just more everything in good and bad so right now he seems to be in right spot and can focus on training and racing.

Why can’t Honda do as KTM and offer teams a factory option ala RMATVKTM

But unless it’s a fill in tide he would have to do outdoors.

Does that change the fact that he's on the factory team and not riding outdoors?

It’s an anomaly. He won’t be doing it next year.

If they raced outdoors, I doubt Honda would have the budget to be able to provide them the same level of support that they get in supercross. Supercross sells bikes and t-shirts in America. That is the OEMs' and other brands focus. Just look at a rider's bonus money indoors and out. When I was working for a goggle company, our win bonus was twice for supercross what it was for an overall outdoors, and that was in 2010.

Imo a factory rider needs to ride sx and mx. Unless you have been an established rider with a great career.
