In lieu of the injury, thoughts? I'm assuming so.

"stay down" lol yeah he has to repeat the 250 class ...such strange thinking these days about cc, then obviously by your thinking the days where there the 250 2t was the biggest cc should carry asterix as a "little boys" class?..

I hope he does. A SX East Coast Title would be good for him.

I think we should be more concerned about his recovery first than what he's going to do next year. Anymore updates on him?

Only that he's supposed to make a 100% recovery per the team I believe

He’s not rumoured or linked to any 450 rides so I see him going anywhere.

JMart is built for the 250 so another year is good. Unfortunately, it weakens an already shitty open class. With all the injuries the open class sucks as far as depth is concerned. RC could jump his old fat ass on a 450 this week and get top 10 ...maybe top 7

Jeez let the guy recover from a BROKEN BACK before crucifying him for staying in the professional 250 class (if he does).

Wouldn't surprise me if he threw down a top 10 qualifier time in practice. But I feel 10 minutes into the moto it would be like he dropped a lead anchor

No shit, some people can't contain themselves.

Well if you read his own Instagram post he said he’ll be 100% recovered in two months and back on the bike. So I think it’s a valid question wouldn’t you agree? I want to see him stay on the 250 win an sx championship in 19. Seems more like you can’t contain yourself. Much thank you.

Well according to the “Vitard handbook” he’ll be a sandbagger if he stays down, even if he has suffered serious injury and his team wants him to stay down. Or does that not apply in this case??
On a serious note, he’s got a ways to go in his recovery yet. 2 months, 100% recovered and back on the bike seems a bit optimistic. Spinal injuries are no joke...
I’m just wishing the young man a full recovery at this point in time.

Thats where the money is for him right now. You dont know what Honda offered him to stay on the 250, so who cares. These guys have a short enough career as it is, if they can earn more money to ride a 250 instead of a privateer or B level 450 ride then more power to them.

I think when he extended his contract when this new 250 came out, it was for 2 years and to stay on the 250 with the option of riding the opposite coast on a 450.

After that crash, let him do whatever he wants. In a few months, Honda should say " Welcome back, Mr. Martin, what's your pleasure?...450 or 250?"

You would think that, but it's a known fact you don't count out RC. There's triple digit privateers getting near or top tens. Give him a month or two of solid training anf he'd be top ten all day imo. They don't call him the goat for nothing and he's younger now than John Dowd was when he was still podiuming or getting tip 10's

Do you think an out of shape RC can beat Kyle Cunningham or Henry Miller? Just curious what you think...

People that know the sport know that it makes sense to stay in 250 class.
Until he points out of SX it makes sense to go after that title. Honda brought him on to secure a 250 MX title for them..
I hope he does both in 2019 and gets a decent 450 ride!

The guy is lucky to even be thinking about throwing his leg over a bike again after this past weekend and people are still bitching about him possibly staying down. If he makes it back to full fitness, he deserves another crack at the title and the extra cash that comes with that.

Nothing wrong with staying in the 250 class, especially with his resume. The guy is a great outdoor rider, but has not dominated the class, nor won a championship since 2015. And in supercross he is a good guy to have on your team, but twice 3rd overall in a regional SX championship isn't something 450 factory teams get excited about.

Imo more value for Honda to have him try to go 3rd in Sx and 1st in 250 outdoors next year then end up 9th in SX and 6th in 450 outdoors.
