Answer is NO
So the 2 time former 250 Outdoor Motocross Champion and Fastest qualifier at multiple SX rounds earlier this year is going to beat the guy who fades 10 minutes into every SX race and hasn't completed an outdoor season in years?
But anything better than 13th is a really good day for him. This is his results from this year in the regional 250 series = 6 7 0 0 10 6.
Not a single top 5. Lets be honest, it has been a total shit show.
I listened to the Pulp show a few hours ago and JT said that this is a great opportunity for JMart and i agree, he needs to take advantage of this opportunity.
Anybody watching the heat races can come to this conclusion, because more often than not Mookie qualifies directly out of the heat races. He has the speed for them and with just a 5 min race his fitness doesn't come into play. J-Mart is in good shape and I think unless he crashes he will beat Mookie. I would love to see what Mookie could do if his fitness is where it needs to be to ride a 20min + 1 lap supercross race. He has so much skill and talent on a 450. So, as things stand right now J-Mart will beat him...in my opinion.
Pit Row
With that being said, first race on a 450 on a rough SX track is going to be tough for anybody, especially a smaller guy. Still picking Martin though. Can't wait, yo.
Jmart finishes ahead of Malcolm in main.
Lost my faith in Malcolm after watching him live in Toronto. Great speed and style for 5 laps, but then lost all aggressiveness and was just cruising around. I had thought his poor finishes were bad luck or crashes, but it appears that he just slows down after 5 minutes.
If this is the best show of the night at Daytona....we are in trouble!
I would bet $1 on Mookie just because he has finished more races.
JMart couldnt win on a 250, a bike that he is very well suited for, why would he be able to hop on a 450 and do any better on a tight stupid track like Daytona?
I would bet another $1 JMart gets a last place start and then makes a mistake.
I
If they start within say even 5 positions of each other I'd say Martin wins
