Do you watch the races after you've been to the event?

I'm going to Matterly Basin for the GP in a couple of weeks but I also plan to watch the races at some point after the event on TV. I do this so I can see all the racing from all around the track (even though Matterly has excellent viewing) and if I miss something coz your eyes can't be everywhere at once. I'm I hardcore or a hardcore nerd lol?

I do the same. At the event your view is very restricted and you don't get all the angles. I watch it on TV later to see all the action I missed out on live.

Definitely makes sense to watch on TV as well as live- that way you really get the best of both viewpoints.
Guess the TV cannot capture the atmosphere so much as watching live (or the exact track conditions) but you do get to see most of the track, unlike if you are watchling live.
Amazing really to think back to the limited coverage that used to be available, say in the 1980's to the amazing footage of what we have nowdays! Funny though, folk still seem to be able to complain about it!

Yes, you miss a lot of the action at a live event.

Yes...

Furthermore... I would really like to be able to buy old seasons on blu Ray... instead of binge watching GOT I would rather binge watch the sx season from 97, or 02, etc...

Wow- Bluray- never thought of that, would be something else to see the old seasons /classics in real high quality.

Is it technically possibly though to 'enhance' the original films into that high a quality? Would imagine there is a cut off point, where this is possible?
I got a bluray player- never, ever used it in about 3 years! (not sure why I got it really!) Blink

I went to Toronto supercross in 2014. On the way there, I had to pull over a few times, almost threw up... I apparently had food poisoning from dinner the night before.
I watched practice but had to leave, chills, sweats, etc. Threw up like I haven't done since I was a kid when I went back to the truck to rest... Then took a shit load of gravol and went back for the night show. I was so out of it I could hardly keep track of how the race was going, but the crowd was going nuts in the 450 main, I couldn't figure out why... It was Stewarts epic come back from last place. I had to watch it online the next day just to see what I missed. Shitty part was I was sitting in the rhythm section he was nailing better than anyone else all night and I missed it!

yep.

But I also never watch the races live on TV. I save them for the next day so I can skip the commercials.

Yeah I watch races I have attended and will do so again at Matterley this year.... On the way home from Namur years ago we were lucky enough to catch the highlight show on Eurosport on the ferry back to the UK on Sunday night.

Yep same for me! The most memorable one being Lierop 2012 GP. Herlings absolultely destroyed the competition that day, lapping pretty much the whole field in both motos!

Couldn't wait to get home and to watch it on tv again, allthough you had to be there to really get the feel on how gnarly fast he was going Cool

My wife wouldn't go on a bet. Too many years of cleaning goggles, getting splashed with gas, eating 12 hours of dust, spending God knows how much money racing for some plastic. I watch the race in hopes of seeing myself to prove to her I wasn't out having fun. She can't abide the thought that I might enjoy myself.

I spend all of the time during the race jumping up and down waving my arms so I can see myself when I watch the race afterwards on TV, I try not to hear who won so I can be surprised. It doesn't always work so sometimes I just have to act surprised when I watch it later.

Yes in SX. But only once in MX: Steel City 2011. I had to see that last corner pass RV put on Dungey again.

Every time, multiple times! You see things you missed or see things from a different perspective!
...plus catching yourself on TV...lol
