I know Villopoto did it towards the end of his career, and covington and Osbourne have done it. But will there ever be a top shelf American talent that dedicates himself fulltime to the GP's?
ahh sorry , you meant a young talent coming over ? there are some in EMX and MX2 .

I bet Luongo would love that idea! Haha
That said, I think it is a more likely scenario than having a top US guy leave to go race the GP's.
We’d still have some outdoor motocross races in the country, FIM would get more SX races, but FIM would own it all and no more mx sports/ AMA so that would suck
But this isn’t a perfect world. That would be incredible imo
One in the US at a standard track, one in Mexico, one in Europe.
Call it the combined series, and have a mini champion each year for whoever does the best over those 3 races.
In addition, the points paid out still count towards each series overall championship.

Guess though you are referring more to the future though!
Hope they do though in the future and also the GP guys getting over your way also- mixing it up has to be a goodthing!
Just thought of Trampas Parker and Donny Schimt- very cool riders- just used to love watching Donny rip it up!
** added- Billy Liles also- what a rider- think he would have won it also one year but he busted his leg up or something. Fantastic rider Billy was.
Jonny o'mara & Marty Smith done the odd GP in the day.
Remember Jeff Ward racing in international meetings in Europe.
Rick Johnson is on record saying he was looking to do Gps before his injury.
Mike Healey, bobby Moore & Tallon Vohland done full seasons.
Most recent is Mike Brown twice!
Pit Row
Magoo, yes he did the British championship also -remember that. They made him qualify in the support class - god knows why- lapped the whole field like a madman!
Yep Browny and of course Bobby Moore, forgot about those two!
Your probably abit older than me from the riders you mention but remember Marty Moates out of the names you mention doing good.
Just remembered 'Wild Willy' Surrat- he also came over for the GP's and did very good.
Im happy everything turned out the way it did for him, but it would have been cool to see if he had have a got a ride over there.
America team does mediocre and people think we are done. It was a mud race and our team finished fifth. Competition is leveling out and that’s a good thing.
Trampas Parker, Billy Liles, Donny Schmidt, Brad Lackey, the list is long actually. I think they all won a title or 3 also, and came damn close a few more times also.
