Do you ride often enough or hard enough to wear holes in your grips?

And no, that's not my bike. It would take me a decade to do that!

That's cool and all...but if you are wearing your grips out like that then your Most likely over gripping the bike.

It took me a couple months but my grips would wear out just like that until I switched to the Kevlar grips.

You can tell by the end of the grip that it doesn't touch the ground often.

I'd be more worried with the fact that someone stole my forks

And with full waffle grips, I'm sure the blister resembles the hole in the grip

I use Renthal dual compound grips and go through 2 or 3 sets a year. I would change them before they got that bad. The time it takes for them to wear out is closely related to what compound grips you use.

I have worn holes in Pro Taper grips with about a month worth of riding. They just might be super soft easy to tear grips though.

I've never ever worn a set of grips out thanks to arm pump. Plenty of bike time but no strength to grip too tight! I envy riders that can grip tight enough to wear out grips. I've never even had a blister from riding.. I've worn out boots in record time and also side panels.

you shouldn't envy them, more people should learn to grip with their legs so they don't get arm pump.
I have often tried to grip more with my legs but I always go back to my bad habits of strangling the bars

I always wear out mine exact the same. And always wreck a good pair of gloves by putting a hole in only the right side thumb! This is not from over gripping...its from the opposite and hanging on loosely...hence all the rubbing.

x2. I wear out gloves and grips at a regular pace, and no, its not from holding on too tight. Even with the holes in my gloves I dont get blisters. Actually, the holes dont bother me at all.....

I used to do this also, then was advised to get a straighter set of bars. Walla it went away. I run stock CRF/CR grips and get a good year out of them. Wear gloves out though.

I switched to the RC high bend 54mm of sweep. Now I wear my grips and gloves evenly.

Gripping the bike with your legs is were it's at, arm pump is a thing of the past and you can REALLY get the 450's to half ass do what you want. Getting kids or riders to break the white knuckle grip on the bars and hold on with their legs can be a bitch though. My kids Ted Bundy the bars like a mofo, can't get them to use their legs for shit.

Does it have a 427 Ford in it? One of the 2 I have seen locally had a 427 and the other a 351 Cleveland. I believe the 351 Cleveland is what most came with when Ford imported them in the 70s.

If I'm not mistaken, your burnout was on India St to the I-5 North?

They all came with 351 Clevelands, but I have seen a couple with 427's that the owners shoehorned in. Mine is a stroked Cleveland 403 cid. And XENO, you are right on the money about location!
