Just a thought, they tarp football and Baseball fields at a lot of these same venues. Not sure why they couldn’t tarp at least sections of track at the very least if they see that rain is a possibility.

Just looking at past mudders, it doesn’t seem like they cover the tracks in my opinion. I know there is only so much they can do.

Well they can't ride on top of the tarps... gotta come off sometime. And when they remove the tarps, the water has to go somewhere

They have to remove the tarp for the races. At that point, rain can fall on the track and make it muddy. If they wouldn't cover it before the races, it would probably look like diarrhea instead of mushy poop.

Tarping A1 wont to sh1t, as the rain is expected to drop right around Main event time.

Not tarps, heavy plastic, usually about a 6 mil.

And I can tell you it is about like work taking it on and off. I did it often at the old open Fulton County stadium in atlanta, as well as tampa, orlando, and memorial stadium in charlotte.

Keep in mind if any water has accumulated it has to be be rolled off with the cover into an area where it will drain. Often all this is being done on a surface that is already wet and both mushy and tacky.

The plastic gets greasy from the mud and you must be careful not to tear it, which would dump the water right where you do not want it to go.

Even having first hand experience I am often amazed by how good the tracks are after heavy rains, even during move in. Dirt wurks does a great job.
