Answer Roost Boost? I had one on a 1986 kx125... If i remember correctly, It didn't work.. It was a waste of $119.00 dollars.I remember the price because i was still in high school and had to save for weeks to get one. Anyone else use one and have any luck with it??

What is a Roost Boost? Just curious... Bummer it was a waste. That was a lot of money back in those days.

The "Roost Boost" by Answer Products was an electronic device put in the
electrical wiring before the spark plug. It was supposed to reshape the
charge and change its ignition timing so as to provide a boost in power by
making a cleaner and faster burn in the cylinder.

Your cigar lighter improved performance more than an Answer Products "Roost Boost"

Wasn't the iCat the same concept? But actually worked?
Totally different. That goes on the plug. This goes on the intake boot on a 2 stroke.

Hell yeah! I had one on my 89 CR125. White Power inverted forks and a roost boost was the ticket. Smile

I loved my 85 KX250 until the uni-trak rocker arm blew up in a fourth gear sweeper. Kawi installed a revised beefed up rocker that stayed together. Then it started popping out of gear at the worst of times so I replaced it with a new 87 CR250. Now that was a good bike.

That was my first real motocross bike. I bought it in 1989. Blew the bottom end in it.

Wrong, the "boost bottle" went to the intake, while the "roost boost" was an ignition component.

You ae confusing the Roost Boost with a Boost Bottle. The Boost Bottle goes on the intake boot. The Roost Boost is an electrical item that plugs into the ignition similar to the iCat.

Roost Boost and DirtSquirt were two of the best product names ever.

I made a Boost bottle out of a WD40 can and gas line for my YZ80
In my mind it added tons of HP

In 81 we made them out of pvc plumbing parts...in 82 they came stock. Stupid gimmick that we all ran. I wonder how many top ends were lost from those things coming loose or cracks in the hose etc.

I had one on my '87 kx 80 and '87 kx 125. Didn't do anything on the 125, but I swear the 80 ran better. Even sounded slightly differant. The 125 was heavily mod, but the 80 only had a pipe. Thats it.
