Yes the price does suck. Big time. But I haven’t seen many 250 smokers go 200+ hours on a top end. So dependability I don’t agree with
They do still sell 2 stroke mx bikes. If everyone would just come to the same agreement as you and buy a 2 stroke instead of a 4, everything would switch back to the smokers. Kind of like when everyone quit buying 2 strokes around 03-04 and Suzuki and Kawasaki couldn’t give away one. They switched due to market demand. That could work the other way but for some strange reason it doesn’t.
Different strokes for different folks.
I’ve had no reliably from any of my 4 strokes and I ride 250f’s. Vet guys can get plenty of life out of any modern 4 strokes and they’re easier to ride.
Yawn

Occasional ride for VMX: 1985 CR500RF
Adventure/Road bike: CRF1000L
I have never heard this argument before, we must ponder this...
It's the nexus of the crisis
And the origin of storms
Specifically when faced with a “seat bounce” jump, the 2T is dominate, only if it was broke in with synthetic oils.
Mortal Kombat for the Sega Genesis is the best game ever made.

Buy one of each. Ride your 2 Stroke when you want to feel like you’re hauling ass. Use your 4 stroke to actually go fast and win races. If you’re worried about repair costs you’re in the wrong sport and need a better job.
I disagree. Although mortal kombat is a fine game Donkey Kong is the greatest ever!

I would prefer a mix of them, level the rules out and let them both play! Makes it more fun and interesting.

I think he would 100% agree with me.
If we're honest I think most of us probably feel as though we're going faster than we are in real life regardless of what it is we're riding... Once you get into the realms of pro/semi pro etc then yeah, I can definitely see the importance of a 4 stroke with a goal to winning. For the rest of us; we probably end up going through the same corners the same speed we're comfortable with every time regardless. Personally I'm getting back into 2 strokes again - particularly interested in the evo stuff (but of course each to their own).
I have little to no desire to ride any two strokes, ever. and I grew up riding them. The typical two stroke powerband is so inferior to smooth four stroke power... i have no use for them. So, disagree i guess
ride
I never really got used to, or liked the engine braking on the 4 strokes, I like being able to downshift in the corners, keep on the clutch, and upshift out of them, I don't ride or really want to ride professionally, I just ride for fun, and I have a smile on my face riding that 2 stroke! (I've got a 2002 Honda CR125 and had a few Kawasaki 2 strokes before the CR) love the 2 strokes, so much lighter and cheaper to maintain as well.... for me, I've always wanted to build up a CRF450R supermoto for the streets, 4 strokes make better street bikes, where 2 strokes make better race bikes imo
But as someone said above, different strokes for different folks!

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of the mixing fuel thing either, I liked just packing up the bikes in the truck and stopping by a gas station on the way to the track and full up the bike and my 5 gallon gas can when I had my 4 strokes...
But like I just said, I just have alot more fun on the 2 stroke, especially becasue not many people around my ride 2 strokes, so being at the track tearing it up on a 2 stroke is alot of fun!
I completely agree. I used to ride mx bikes but now I have quads. The power is so linear and smooth, and the tractability of the extra 13" wide wheel makes riding so easy and effortless. I can ride 2x as long as I did on my mx bikes! It's so easy to go fast and I don't get near as tired because I'm on a mobile couch!

Not. Gunna. Happen. You can't put the genie back in the bottle. That's also why 2strokes will not go away, either.

Quads and four strokes are not comparable. Nice cast.

Glad I wasn’t the only one trying to make sense of this.
Price and dependability = shyte/ agree or disagree.
