I would have argued that it wasn't before I saw this pic. You are clearly correct.

Problem is the same women today are at those check points. LOL and they don't look the same now. Smile

I am pretty sure this is the summer bummer at the Hill & Gully club, Roselawn IN. Never raced it, but many have and have spoke about it.

cant see pic dammit
A couple of TT guys covered in mud, being attended to a pack of ladies also covered in mud, with features only available before silicone. It was an elegant shot though, I swear! If it could have ever been classy, it was captured in this photo. LOL

Except rotary phones hooked to the wall.

And Internet porn.

Oh and the current selection of craft brews.

They bring those rotary phones back now, because they are "hip".

Kongols-

That's crazy that you posted this picture, as I also came across it only last night while surfing the internet on my ipad next to the fireplace...

I found it on Geoff Ballard's Blog on his website (noted & excellent Aussie off-road racer).

Per his blog, he said that this was taken in the US, although he did not mention specifically where or when. My own guess would be '77 or '78.
I am presuming that it may have been an ISDT qualifier or event of some sort, as he was participating in these at the time.

He stated that the course ran through a nudist colony and the colonist/nudist (or whatever you wish to call the members) were volunteers at a checkpoint.

If I can come up with a link to his website I will post it, although what I've stated above pretty much covers all that he said about it.

Agree with all. Racing and riding for fun in the 70's was an amazing time. I wish I'd had a GoPro back then so I figure out if my memories are anything close to reality. Smile

Wow,I lived in northern Japan during the early `70's.Motocross was huge there as it was mostly rural and hilly. In the city that I lived by,there was a Suzuki shop that was one of the 2 shops in Japan that did R&D and testing for the RN and RH GP bikes that DeCoster and Robert rode in the European GP's.This is where I first started riding.Lot of wild things came and went through that shop, like some of the early YZ's and KX's in 1972/73.I think Suzuki was trying to copy some of the tech,or experiment with it.I saved up my grass cutting money and wanted to come back to the US with a new TM 125 in 1973,my father tried so hard to keep me from riding dirtbikes he wouldn't let me get it.All my friends had bikes so riding wasn't to much of a problem at the time. Some of the things I saw then were a few years ahead of when they were first produced and available in the US.This is where I got my undying interest in the factory bikes and was very disappointed with the production rule.

Racing seemed to just be more light hearted. Today everyone has to be all "factory"
