So,

You will probably think this is the stupidest thread ever but,

My friend lives about a mile away and I need to get there for something and no one can give me a ride and I don't have a bicycle. I was just going to roll over on my kx100, yes I know my bike isn't street legal and I am only 15 and everything but have any of you ever done this? I can ride like half of the way through neighbor hoods to limit my risk but I am just wondering what you guys think as I am in a real pinch.

You're 15, which means you can run the mile in 7 minutes or less with ease. Run, or walk. Don't ride on the street.

Only ONE mile? Son in my day, i used to walk to school - 5 miles and uphill each way, and to top it off, i was barefoot! And this was in the rain, snow, sleet and mud.

Only one mile? Sheesh, just make sure you have at least 1/2 tank of gas in that KX100!

Oh to be 15 and riding a KX80 again....

Dude ive pulled off a 2 mile ride on my Dirtbike before in southern California, and didnt get caught, seeing as your in Utah, you should be good since its only a mile.. make shure to use as many back streets as possible and alleyways..and dont dick around out in the street get where your going.

Hell, I'm over 3 times as old as him and even if I can't run a mile I can back flip off the grand canyon. I'm not sayin' I can land it.

You should see us these days "those kids are so lazy". I am too lazy to walk it. I pulled it off though. I think most likely a cop would just escort me home and tell our helper lady to not let me do it. (Parents are gone)

It has nothing to do with lazy for me.

Cops rarely have a sense of humor about that kind of stuff and your bike will end up sitting inside a police impound instead of your garage.

Glad you didn't get caught but that doesn't make it a good idea.

Along with the fact that you could get ticketed for 1. driving without a license 2. no insurance 3. illegal operation of an off road vehicle on public streets, and who knows what else. If you get a grouchy enough cop you could end up in front of a judge and be prevented from getting your drivers license when you are eligible.

if you ride there (which i strongly recommend you should) make sure you are wheelying everywhere possible.

also, driveway approaches are perfect places to practice jumping, flower gardens provide perfect traction and rut up nicely. practice corners at least 3 blocks from your place.

one more thing, skidders are awesome. try to get at least a 20' skidder in an elderly person's driveway

I used to ride my dirt bike in the street all the time (so to speak).....

But that was 1973, I was fifteen also.

My reason was to get to the local ride spot, which was one of the many vacant fields nearby, or Cerritos Cycle Park.

But I now STRONGLY suggest that you borrow a bicycle or walk.

Be responsible.Wink

Yes, Kawboy the helper lady is smoking hot. Lovely face, doesn't end there either.

I used to ride my kx 125 from 441 to the beach a couple times a week in Boca Raton when I was a kid and the police would not even give you a glance. It would be a pack of bikes and three wheelers with gas tanks strapped to them and sometimes rods and surfboards. It was mostly woods and everglades back then and now it is one of the busiest cities in the country and the swat team would be called if you started a dirtbike there. I could ride out my front door in any direction for miles. Those days are long gone in this state.

Yeah we also have some property like 100 feet by 100 feet up the way about a mile also. most of the road to get there doesn't even have lines on them. I can always tell the cop I didn't know it was wrong and I live 3 minutes away. There is also a place about the same closeness with dirt jumps that kids take there bikes to often that is also about a mile away. I am not riding on big busy streets, I am talking about mostly little neighbor hoods.

I walk about two miles a day with the stroller and I enjoy it. I guess it's an age thing...
