Going into Vegas all 3 SX titles are still up for grabs! I'm not sure how many positions each rider needs to finish ahead of the next guy to win the title, and I'm pretty sure with the current system we will have to listen to Ralph endlessly tell us what would happen if the race was over that second. Calculators will be smoking all night.
Where would we be with the "Olympic" scoring system? Including the triple crown motos? Anybody bored enough to do the count? Basically average finish with last place earning +1 for DNS (23). Then what if there was 1 or 2 throwaways?
I understand that JA21 would have played it differently, but it would be nice to say he has to beat MM25 by 5 positions period, not a moving target.

In a straight Olympic system, Brayton overtakes Tomac for 3rd by 2 positions, no other changes.
With a 1 throwaway Olympic system, nothing changes other than MM25 needing 8 positions to tie rather than being 14 points behind.
Same goes for the 250 West, no changes. AC92 needs 4 positions to tie under a straight Olympic system rather than being 13 points behind. 1 throwaway makes the difference 5 positions rather than 4.
The difference is how much closer it makes the top 2.
At the end of the day, the best guy who finishes the best consistently wins. regardless of points structure.
Anderson's front wheel getting ripped apart saved Vegas.
