Did we piss NBC off enough that they shoved him down our throats for about triple the TV time today? His extra TV time felt like a big middle finger to us “rednecks”.

At least he learned what start blocks are. Thank God.

Forget Rutledge... Way too much NASCAR discussion and comparisons. Leigh Diffey trying to take the call in the main and make a NASCAR example from last week fell flat.

Short answer, no. It's hard to comprehend I know but NBC is not worried about a couple hundred (generous number) on vital complaining. Rutledge is there for the masses, not the 12 people on here that complain about everything. I think he does a good job for people who don't watch all the time, like the thousands that watched yesterday because it was during the day and nothing better to do

Let's say the dumbing down and showing less of the actual racing does attract more newbies. What happens when they learn enough to realize the coverage sucks? You can attract all the new customers you want, if your product is shit they won't be back, right?

They shortened the main for track maintenance because they had a national broadcast slot on NBC. If they ran long they would’ve cut the feed. Supercross doesn’t have the pull to run long.

Does anybody really think there are thousands of people watching SX for rhe very first time, i personally don't think so. Id guess 90 percent are those that have always watched, new viewers are probably friends of those already watching.

No other sport that i watch dumb down their broadcast for new viewers, as example NFL seem to be getting more technical, color analysts providing indepth info, even the sideling reporter is usually discussing an injury, not dicussing rugby, nascar, or anything non reletex to the game.

Mx/sx is too small to influence any content provider.

Actually NBC would be smart to put together a focus group of actual motocross riders and get their feedback on their coverage of Supercross. Or just read the threads about coverage and Rutledge on Vital. That way they wouldn't have to buy anyone lunch.

The producer continues to cut away to the first place finisher even though there are riders still racing for position. It's annoying to say the least. The "score" board takes up too much of the left hand side of the TV. It makes the riders look like they are chasing the left side of the TV. It's annoying too. Will Christien said some stuff, I'm not sure what. Take the mask off, you're more than 6' away from the camera. I guess she did give it the old college try when she did a segment from the pits about something or other.

I like Todd Harris way more than Diffey. Something about Diffey just doesn't gel with me. And no it's not his accent or his lame sports jacket.
