Sitting here watching the last 250 race of the night and noticed the announcing has a much calmer feel than last week. Ralph and Ricky are basically just calling the race. It’s really pleasant. No yelling, no feigned excitement. Shoot, there’s even dead space between sentences where neither are talking. Feels a lot less like monster trucks than it has in weeks past.

Nice work tonight, Ricky and Ralph!

You might be onto something. This week, they didn’t cut the qualifying show to show recaps and replays while the A groups qualified which was great. And like you mentioned, I didn’t notice any previous week replays taking place during the actual races tonight which was great.

Appears as if they are listening to us a bit!

Did he say “five-teen” talking about Dean Wilson?

I don't know why but stupid little girl just aggravates me too no end.

Probably because I suspect there's some nepotism going on and for no other reason than being the niece or some other relative of somebody with Feld or the production crew she gets to gets to practice her very Ralph Shaheen like canned commentary & cheese ball schtick instead of doing it for the 6th grade drama club like most others.

Extend the Science of Supercross or show some up close bike details like Vital does with Pit Bits or even just show some of the scenes from the pit party even without commentary would be so much better.

Anyways just my .02 flame on.

Nothing like a 50 something year old normie that has never ridden a dirt bike in his life being the voice of supercross. Bravo boys.

Ralph hes really positioned perfectly on his red honda to really set sail and position him self perfectly for the race win, by finishing in the perfect position ahead of his title combatants.

Terrible- in the first 250 race they Did not comment on any racing for 3 minutes!
Joey crown and Enzo lopes 5th and 6th-
No comment. - Great opportunity to talk about these privateers etc but just dribble on about nothing Ralph that’s fine.
Missed some of the racing seen clearly and had to make comments on replays.
Jordan Smith came up way short but Ralph yapping on about Jeremy Martin being away for 18 months (again).

No comment on Martin getting held up by Smith and then losing 2 spots because of it. Analyse the race that’s going on please.

450 race:
Did Ralph really just ask Ricky who is better through the whoops?? Roczen or Webb.. seriously ?

For 10+ straight laps the 450’s followed each other single file through the whoops.
Ralph to Ricky- Where will Tomac make the pass Ricky??
Ricky- It’s gotta be the whoops Ralph ...
FFS did you not pay any attention to his alternate jump lines and runs he was having after the finish line? It was clear as day where he could make the pass if he got a run on the inside!!

Daniel Blair is good and can pick up on some of the things happening on the track but Ralph/Ricky for whatever reason NEVER comment on anything technical or interesting. It’s just the same old script for both of them.

I’d like to mention Barcias skill for anticipating Braytons crash in the whoops and changing course, takes a lot of skill and something all the riders had to be mindful of when riding close in whoops.
Also Tomac has a bit of luck on his side- He avoided getting held up by a couple of crashes tonight from people going down in front of him.. years past I think they fall the other way and he gets stuck.

I think it’s his year and he’ll pass Dungey on the wins list- needs 5 more. (Daytona and Vegas are a lock- so 3 more lol)

Sorry to see Webb crash, very uncharacteristic.

I wonder if they ditch this format after all the hate coming from riders/teams? Maybe make it a 2 moto format?

I think that despite all the criticism the announcers get, they do a great job. I am sure they are doing their best each time. A person cannot please everybody so I guess there will always be somebody to criticize. They just need to continue on.

I could barely hear them for all of the background noise. Seemed like the soundboard operator lowered the volume on the microphones and cranked up the track sounds.

Honestly, Ralph is hard work. To me it seems like he's merely cashing a cheque. And Rickie's no too far behind either.

If you whiners would get off of your collective asses and produce an app that can turn down-eliminate the voice track you'll be the next millionaire. As far as the race call ... it's noise in the background. I'm listening to the bikes and crowd to wait for what was just missed, replay will be up in 7 seconds.

As for the last 250 race the air was let out of the building all day with AC's crash and culminating with Webb's deal. Not knowing the riders condition takes a lot of steam out of the call.

It seems like they are getting better. One thing I mentioned before was after the podium interviews Daniel or Will would walk away out of the camera view while still making long winded statements, while also speeding up their speech. Was just super awkward. Didn't notice any of those tonight. So props, some things do look to be improving.

Ralph never tones it down......ever. He’s an imbecile and hopefully we’re watching his retirement tour along with 22.

No, Ralph is still terrible. Truly detracts from the broadcast and race.

He was a little better after replacing Diffey (sp?), but then it went back to old Ralph. Tough gig.

I noticed it too...not that it helped. There was a moment in the 3rd 250 main where there were some long silences. You could tell he was just going down a list written on paper...where he ended with how McElrath rides in a very centred position. The guy is truly cringe worthy bad at his job. Went and watched some favourite east west shootouts from 2008 n 2009. NOTHING has changed since.

You guys are ridiculous! When the gate drops I’m so focused on the race, I don’t even hear the announcers. You all need to focus a little more.

This^^^my exact thoughts!
Yup, there’s a Supercross race going on and you guys seem to be focused on the announcing.Dry I rewind the footage to replay the racing action. I get the impression some of you here rewind the footage to find something to hammer Ralph on. It would behoove some of you to watch live Supercross with a we-never-had-anything-like-this-in-the -80s-or-90’s, glass half full attitude. Just sayin.

...Says the guy that can't process visual and audible stimulus at the same time.

Ralph is terrible. There's no other pro sport where the lead announcer repeatedly asks stupid questions for the whole broadcast like Ralph does.

So instead we should be happy to have a shit service that we paid for, because it wasn't around 20-30 years ago?

The broadcast last night was the best this season. Somebody took control. I can only hope they continue to change what they're doing to provide a better product.

I was thankful I didn't have to listen to the announcers discuss how many cats Eli Tomac's girlfriend helped rescue with her volunteer work with the ARF non- profit that was started ............etc, etc, etc.

I was annoyed repeatedly hearing about Brayton's kid was going to be participating in some event. I don't care.

LOL..it was around, just not anything like it is today. No! I'm not saying that at all. I would never tell someone what level of service to be happy with. If you don't like it, who am I to tell you you "should"? Every business has an unhappy customer somewhere...and here you are. It's a bummer you think it's shit and I feel for you, hence my viewing attitude suggestions above.
I feel like I'm getting my money's worth for what I paid for. I'm happy with the live broadcast of this most awesome sport in the world. There's a reason there's nothing better. I guess you won't buy it next year?...or do you complain every season? I suppose my standards are so low and I am so happy to see ANYTHING moto on TV, that it makes your generation's complaining appear spoiled to me.
