I'll second that if he's got his alleged medical issues in order.

Maybe it's the hair, I'm just not convinced Mookie puts 100% effort into it at this point. It would be nice to see him go all in (if he isn't already) and see what kind of results he would get.

I'm thinking there is some untapped potential there.

Multiple people on pulp mx have said that Malcom can't ride outdoors this season because of his dehydration problem last year. Not that he can't because of a rule but for his health. I don't remember the details.

Okay.

I talked to both Malcolm and his pop on Saturday. They didn't say he was racing outdoors this summer. But they also dodn't say he wasn't.

I got the impression something was in the works.

I've heard Malcom speaking in interviews with the Stewart charisma that has made me a fan of both James and Malcom that he'll line up to race the outdoors if someone's paying him. That says to me that he's looking for a way to race the nationals this year. I really hope he does because this sport is better with both James and Malcom riding. Unfortunately we won't have James out there, but I've got my fingers crossed that Malcom will find a way.

I would like to question most of the gear manufacturers about their garish colors. It is like it is the early 90s all over again.

Cole Seely's gear was butt ugly. It looked like a clown and a Christmas tree were morphed together at the molecular level.

I get the same impression. I got the same impression about Brake Wharton too. They just seemed distracted. They want to race professionally but not to the point where they put their other hobbies on the back burner.

I am a huge Mookie fan. Loved him mugging for the camera Saturday night.. We need more colorful Travis Preston types that make podium interviews entertaining instead of cookie cutter responses.

I agree with this. He's definitely one of the more charismatic types we have in SX. Always seems to be positive.

It's too bad he can't get a ride on the team with his brother. Seems like a great PR move and no issue with any team secrets, etc.

However, Mookie getting a full-on big bike factory ride on his own might give him the motivation to bring out his full potential.

Nah, I know every college and pro team has there crazy hair guy as well nowadays.

It takes all kinds and I have no problem with that.

I just don't see the desire to be the best shine through and I'm thinking there is so much more he has to offer if he gave it his all. Doesn't matter to me if he wants to be the biggest goofball out there before or after the race, and even during if he was getting the job done.

If I was him and had his talents and saw Wilson and others getting full-on big bike factory gigs on really good teams it would piss me off enough to increase my work ethic to make certain everyone knew I was doing all I could. Maybe he is showing all of his potential and busting his but to get the results he has. I'm thinking he's not.

I really don't understand how he hasn't landed a full-time ride? He doesn't seem like he's after the money and He can probably gel with any bike that you put him on. I do remember James saying something along the lines of Malcolm needing to accept being a second rider on a team at this point and not going in as the favorite.

He bad mouthed KTM's pretty badly at the end of the 2013 sx season. KTM will want nothing to do with him. Since TLD is on KTM's thats not going to happen.

I hear that KTM has some even better bikes out there now. Wink

Not sure if feelings were hurt and can't be mended but it might work for them in their favor now with him saying how good they are.

Malcolm Stewart is a good investment, no matter who signs him. He may not podium every race, but he's normally a threat for top-5 and can win if the planets line up and he gets a start. Plus, as others have mentioned, he is a great spokesman when a mic is shoved in front of his face. He's positive, doesn't bitch or make excuses...or blame other riders. It is what it is.

Hope TLD makes room for him on a 450 for outdoors...but I think he'd do very well on a Suzuki or KTM as well.

Seriously what I hoped this thread was going to be about. There should be a helmet fin revival thread.

James could race the last 2 nationals but he won't, He could race the USGP but he won't.
He got to man up for those & train.

Bet he shows up for that rhythm bullshit. Bet he shows up for MEC. Bet he shows up for a Frenchie jump fest, Bet he shows
up for an Aussie jump fest.
