Tomac is a machine when he's on.
I never though he would catch and pass KR from so far back. Props to Roczen though, he gave up the lead but fought like hell to hang with ET.

Fun to see Marchbanks win. Good night for Kawi. Sexton rode smart and fast. I thought he might catch GM but he wicked it up when Sexton got close.

The track? Thought it was ok, not the best. I thought the announcing crew as whole did pretty well.

Although I used to hate them, I loved the podium interviews this year. The riders actually answer the questions about the race. Last night I don't remember one rider rattle off his list of sponsors. They all were very good imo. A refreshing change for sure.

Eli was almost 10 seconds behind KR with 10 minutes to go. That is unreal he caught and passed him.

The track sucked for racing I thought. Way too hard to pass.

But Daytona is still the king.

Except for a quick fall down or if he had one more lap two years ago Tomac would have won five in a row.

Martin had to have been looking for a win last night, to finish off the box could not have been fun.....

Et3 finally looks like is gonna do whatever it takes to win the title this year.... Bad news for all the comp...

Webb is gutting it out, has serious speed, but seems to be one notch down from et and k roc... His issues in the whoops continue to haunt him....

As for the TV broadcast ..... this isn’t nascar with big cars that they do not have to zoom in and have the cameras so far away.

They need to either move cameras closer or zoom in a LOT closer so we can see.

Daytona SX always has lots of bobbles that slow them down.

Tomac ripping around the longer outside lines reminded me of Hannah

Saw Tomac's feet come off the pegs more than once. You can tell he was pushing.

Hate him or love him you have to admit Eli makes the show so much more exciting almost every race. If you take him out of the race last night it would have been pretty boring.

Enjoy it while he is still racing.

Both races were highly entertaining no doubt about it. As mentioned I do think it was one lined in many areas but maybe that’s not much different than a lot of tracks. Looked extremely challenging for sure

After watching Daytona yesterday, no one is going to have anything for Tomac this outdoor season. He is on a total different league period.

Daytona Bike week isn't what it use to be. We would hit the SX and the Daytona 200 when there was 40 riders in the SX mains and 80 plus riders on the high banks for the 200 and then hit the short track and TT race. Its a lot less racing now and just more drinking and hanging out than it use to be but still a good time

It was good to see Kenny stick with Tomac after the pass. I figured he was cooked but he showed otherwise. It made me excited for a more competitive outdoor season even though Tomac is who I want to see win. Good to see Kenny have that stamina on a rough track.

It will be interesting to see if Kenny is gassed at the next race. He definitely dug deep in those closing laps.

Well of you can loose 10 seconds in 10 minutes you can gain them in 10 minutes to.

With a more technical track it would have been harder for him to do that though.

I dont think Tomac would have caught him at the end of the race if Kenny was 100%

That has become such a played out excuse... Tomacs shoulders, villopotos femur, Dungey back, canards whole body... injuries are a part of moto. Every rider has dealt with rough injuries and plenty of them that coulda/shoulda been career ending. Kenny showed he is a beast by matching Tomac after the pass. He clearly is in great shape

I thought the old school track made for a better race and show altogether. The start didn't seem to be much of an issue and it was great to see it get rough in kind of an old school way. I wish there was two or three more of these on the schedule. Between the 3 triple crowns, a standard 10 or so standard SX formats, and then 3 "Daytona's", it would be an awesome way to balance out the schedule. I know that won't happen, but last night was fun and a couple more would be great.

He damn near did a flying W when he passed Kenny. It looked like the bike bucked into his ass a bit, and both feet were almost above the seat.

Overall, I thought it was a pretty good night of racing. Not as exciting as Atlanta, but still a fun watch.

Had high hopes for Bagget this year but he just seems to be a pinball lately.

was a boring race.
I have to agree. Aside from Tomac running down Roczen kind of tame. On the other hand I loved seeing Marchbanks win on the 250.

Loved the track. Loved the racing. The split sections seemed to work well. No real advantage either way. Great design. Would like to see more of this in the future at Daytona.

What I think is even more interesting in the charge Tomac put on is, Kenny's fastest lap was actually faster than Eli's fastest lap. So it wasn't that Eli was just on another level faster than everyone else. Technically, Ken had the fastest lap of the evening. It was the second half charge when the track got super choppy and rough that help him make up the time, which was crazy making up 1-2 seconds a lap. His fitness must be insane. Coop tried to latch on and come with him, but he couldn't keep up.

Yes, you are 100% correct but we also know (except on a solar eclipse) that won't happen. Smile

Slater skins. I noticed his setup looks goofy, but he looked buttery smooth and like a completely different guy. Whatever they figured out last week seems to have made a huge difference.
