He's still one of the few who won a SX, he's only 22, he's still fast and like any other human being can work on things, go faster, get motivated, adapt, get victory hungry, etc, etc

I wouldn't bury a 22 y-o of his level.

This is the kind of reporting we need. Matthes is on to a good thing- behind the scenes viewpoints that are still balanced and fair. He's right- with Honda's resources blaming the bike is ridiculous.

Great write up and I too love his perspective. I hope he's wrong on the Reed prediction and I noticed he talked about how early on when James was figuring out the bike Reed couldn't get it done..but I also noticed some of the best races were later in the season well after James let LB fix the problems so I hope he's wrong.

So I wonder who lives in Tallahasee?

I get so sick of the "tired of the grind" excuse. Every other professional athlete has been doing what they do since they were a kid playing almost year around, travelling to games, etc.

This is the type of stuff that I don't like about this sport or the motoboards. The kid is 22 years old and most others his age and older are still in the lites class.

It's no secrete that last years Honda's had some problems but everyone seems to think it's more entertaining to hammer on a 22 year old kid.

I agree with you Jmar, it makes me laugh when I see posts saying "I don't care about what riders go through, I don't care if they have problems or challenges, if it was me, if I was paid, etc etc, blah, blah, blah." Monday morning quaterbacks.

Well.....there was a mention from GuyB just last week about a certain person who was going through a divorce or tough marrige shit......and Davi's name came up.

If he can handle that......he can handle anything!

Steve didn't say it was Davi for sure.....he just said he knew of some bad stuff going on with someone , then another poster right after him said he thought it was Davi. Steve didn't say "it wasn't" so who knows.

Honestly , it's none of our business anyways and i hate fuggin' goosip......i just hope Davi keeps his head strait and focuses on the task at hand......and that's A1!

Just goes to show on here that they don't mind the message, they just don't like the messenger.

Most on here have a problem when someone tells them that their bike or their rider is not is not doing their "best".

I really had high hopes for Davi but he really hasn't shown the drive or motivation in the 450 class that others in a similar position have. Flame me if you want but it wasn't a dis on him he just seems to be "Spoiled" by the money and factory rides he's had like was mentioned above.

Sad to say but I don't think he'll do any better this year than he has in the past. EVERY time around this year I read interviews that are almost word for word replica hype stuff about how (the rider) was ready to go this year and finally everything has fallen into place or they are finally enjoying riding compare to last year and it's usually the same group that says stuff like this. I omitted names because I don't intend to shoot arrows at any rider but im sure there is a general consensus about who does and who does not. Usually it's to make the team or sponsors pumped about their rider and Ill bet if his contract was performanced based you'd see better results.....
