While watching the Lucas Oil commercial on Speed, I noticed that David Bailey's son Sean was wearing an Alpinestars neck brace. Is the Alpinestars neck brace the best one available? I wouldn't think David Bailey would let his son ride with anything less than the best...

I've heard that too, but what they say is that they will break your collarbones. I say to those people "would you rather spent a month injured or break your neck and never ride again?"

Heck then you don't need a helmet or boots because someone said that 2. If you don't crash or put your feet down you wouldn't need either 1.

I'd say probably 25 % of the riders at the track wear them. How many Pro's?

Believe me ,on those two things I feel im protected enough.Wore a neck roll but hated it and am looking at that omega which is probably middle of the road protection from what ive seen.

Look, you can either answer the question or you cannot.

Who said they're "not good?"

Give me a name.

If you can't answer it, just man up and say you can't answer it.
You made the comment "Somebody told me there not good," so who is that "somebody?"

Who said they're "not good?"

I know David & I've met his son before.
He's close in age to my own son..........
Believe me in that David's on top of it all.
Everything's talked about & discussed.
Just the way he'd want it as well.
Not a race dad at all!
I think the LUCAS spots are great.

Marc de Reuver broke his neck and he still doesn't want to wear one, so what does that say?

It seems many of the Euros don't wear one but racers likee Davi Milsaps said he really believe it saved his neck and there are alot of US pros that use one. Back in the day most Euros didn't use full coverage MX helmets that is till Roger snapped the front end off his bike and started using one. Maybe they just need a major euro star to use one to get them wearing them?

The entrie KTM (GP team) wore them 2 years ago, then when they had the option the next year, many didnt wear it. Ciarolli wears one and he is a major euro star...It is just interesting that the only GP rider out there racing that has broke his neck before wont wear one and thinks there hasnt been enough testing on it.
There is a racer from texas who is now in a chair and he was wearing one. The brace didnt break his neck but the load on his back shattered some vertabreas in his back which cut his spinal cord.

I don't use one, but the probability of me needing one riding my office chair is minimal, near non existent....
