I just had a chance to listen to the Pulp Show with Davi Millsaps as cohost and it was great. I think it’s awesome that Steve asked about the locker, and that Davi answered.

Sorry if someone else looked into this in the last week and posted, but based on Davi’s description it sounds like the substance was Dexamethasone, “a corticosteroid, similar to a natural hormone produced by your adrenal glands. It often is used to replace this chemical when your body does not make enough of it. It relieves inflammation (swelling, heat, redness, and pain) and is used to treat certain forms of arthritis; skin, blood, kidney, eye, thyroid, and intestinal disorders (e.g., colitis); severe allergies; and asthma,” which he was taking via Iontophoresis, “a process of transdermal drug delivery by use of a voltage gradient on the skin” with a prescription.

Anyone know more than that about this drug?

It's was recently discovered to reduce symptoms and improve mortality rates in COVID-19 patients.

Anti inflammatory, so probably good for enhancing performance by reducing recovery times

And...like what Davi & Matthes said, if Davi had've been having a great season with Kawasaki it would have never been any issue at all, and would never have even made the press. But, it was an excuse for Kawi to fire Millsaps.

Wonder if Mr. Millsaps would take a lie detector test? If it really was a prescribed medicine, why wait two years to inform us?

If it A: wasn’t an illegal substance, and B: he had a prescription for it, how could he have been fired for it? I’m not buying his story.

I was prescribed it when I had Covid over Christmas. Supposed to help repair the damaged lungs. They give it to people with Pneumonia too.

Kawasaki and Millsaps settled out of court. Davi didn't say who paid who, but I believe Davi won since he didn't have a positive WADA drug test and got a ride with another team.after everytihng settled down.

We’re taking about wada and fim “illegal” here though, so a whale and a dolphin gettin it on could very well be in the cards.

From the sounds of it part of the settlement was he couldn’t talk about it in greater detail.

Goes both ways but hey? Why didn't Kawasaki just state what it was as they look like an asshole not as well. As posted already I am sure it is part of out of court settlement. As Davi also stated if was HGH etc why would he have it at the race what is that going to do taking it that day??

Also strange after this people got fired at Kawasaki, which Davi also briefly touched on.

Yep, that's the exact same drug they pushed through my IV a few times per day post back fusion surgery. Its also used as a pain killer (reduces swelling) post surgery. Its not addictive or anything like that.

Everyone in the industry who knew or had "heard," myself included, said all along it was a big nothing burger and just a contract escape clause, but the Interwebz Konspirzy Comrades had it in their mind it was some big scandal being buried.

The only thing that was never said was exactly what it was, and that was his place to do that....and he did

No he named HGH specifically as something it was not, in the podcast. He said it was a drug that he had a prescription for and that he put on a pad and then put on his forearm and took via “iontophoresis.” He also compared it to a strong Tylenol.

Dexamethasone came up as a a corticosteroid that would be administered this way in my search results. Toradol, mentioned up above, sounds like it’s an injectable. Please note that I’ve never heard any of these words before today and am relying on Google results 😊

The whole event was a pretty big deal though. It’s not often a huge star of our sport suddenly loses a factory ride because of a unnamed discovery in their locker.
