I didn't realize that Marty was still suffering from his neck injury at A1 2018. That is terrible.

For sure...numbness in his arms, etc. is no joke.

What is a joke is Ralph (in his shrill, screech voice) proclaiming Davalos' age every time he mentions his name. It's gotten old, and Ralph is coming off as a bit of an ass at this point...

He was on the gas last night. I hope his neck issues are not long-term.

Davalos is didn’t race A1 in 2018. He raced East, he got taken out by Osby on the first Main Event gate drop at Arlington/Dallas.

You're right. Davalos hasn't given up on the 250 class in years

Didn't Ryan Hughes, Mike Brown, and Steve Lamson retire in the 125 class?

Not really comparable. Both Ryno and Brownie went to the GPs and Lamson's most successful years were before the point-out rules were in place.

But the bigger issue is really that the class needs to be either a developmental class, or just another place for top pros to make money, but the current rules satisfy neither of those.

BTW, here's an old thread here where people were giving Brownie the Marty treatment:

Dude lined up and raced the four following weekends with what turned out to be a broken neck. That's insane.

I had a good fall in the woods a few years ago(3rd gear crash around a corner. I had a stiff neck the next day but didn't think anything of it. Few months later I started to get these weird achy headaches(not migraines). Went to the doctor and they x rayed my neck and found 2 bone spurs from the crash. Where the spurs are, causes extra pressure in my neck and causes cervicogenic headaches. They suck. When I sleep my neck has to be perfectly level, only way I can combat it.

he'd be a good (cheaper) replacement for JHill and would try harder too.

He was excellent on the 450 outdoors in '17. Two podiums and average finish position in top 10.

They all finished i the 250 class indoors. Marty D needs to move on and ride a 450 indoors next year.
Yes 32 is a joke to be riding against 18 year olds.

I think he made his intentions pretty clear on the podium that he's after a 450 ride. I'm not sure how much you can really fault him at this point. Maybe he needs a different agent?

He's also looking forward to (hopefully) a 450 ride.

A guy has to ride where he can find work.

It would great to see Mitch give him a 450 this year outdoors - I know it wont happen but would be fun to see Davalos in the 450 class again. I think he could surprise a few.

I hope Marty gets a 450 ride but he is making it tougher when he keeps talking about how bad his neck is and that he has trouble even hanging on the bike. Why would a team want to hire someone who has so many health issues and is 32?

I hope I am wrong though. He is a great rider and showed it in 2017 on the 450.

I don't get it. He's racing a dirt bike for a living...putting eats on the table. Most on here would consider that a dream job. I don't care if he's 60...if the kids can't beat him...they need to get faster.

I think any racer should be able to ride the 250 class as long as they want to.
