Sweet... that dude was the man on a 500. Thanks!

I used to have the video that had many of these scenes and others with him and Ty Davis battling... forget the name of it.

Thanks for posting that. He was an unbelievable rider.

Those desert races are funny. A moto guy can come out and just kill it with their speed and intensity for a bit but it takes a different skill that you aren't taught in moto to be successful out there. Patience.

I heard that he had amazing eyesight along with his steel balls. Helps when choosing lines at 100mph.

Got taken way to early as alot of the good ones do for some reason. I hit a booby trap in the 1000 in 94 and went to sleep for a month and the following June in the 500 was when Danny hit the policecar as the car was going the wrong way on the street in the fog!! Great guy!!

If Danny was still around he would be 37 years old and very likely still the man to beat in the desert. He was desert racing’s GOAT.

Danny was a heck of a nice and cool dude. He used to come by our motorhome and wrestle our big Akita, then sneak a Twinkie or Hostess Cupcake out of site of anyone.

I have one of his jerseys on my garage wall still(the only one) and my little sister has several that he gave her.
