Who is going to bring it home? We all know it will yo-yo and it is hard to predict a winner. But I will have to say Toby, if he doesn’t break himself, if not Ricky or Daniel…..great event to follow, get on it x.

ANDREW SHORT WILL WIN IT

Will the Dakar be broadcast on TV this year?

|

12/31/2021 12:17 PM

Gonna be epic. I'd love to see Skyler Howes win this thing.

I think Red bull TV covers it but only for a few mins review each night ☹️
Espn we’re showing highlights last week of the 2021 race so they may be covering it

Looks like it will be on the Olympic Channel.

And maybe also Peacock.

Floracing.com the subscription is a little pricey but if you like dirt track racing it’s totally worth it. The amount of content you get is crazy.

It'll be either Toby, Ricky or Chucky Saunders

Be cool to see Chucky win it!

Well, Chucky got the Prologue win.

I think that gives him (the option? ) of starting at the back of the first 15 tomorrow, in the first full stage. It's often/ most of the time, an advantage to Not lead out on a stage.

Go to advrider.com for a few different threads to follow. The "Firehose" there is almost a full time job to keep up with, each year. And, there's blokes there that seem to be able to provide more accurate info than ASO do.

Me, I've followed the Dakar since it first started, but I'm nowhere near as fanatical as a fair few posters over there.

Really hope Chucky brings it home, or old man Walkner. this year will be awesome.

Yeah it is good they get the option, at least for the 1st stage. I’m not sure it’s that way for the whole event though.

I get more and more into this race every year.
Such a cool event.

Listening to Shorty and Brabec talk about it on pulp, it just sounds so wild.
It sounded like shorty didn’t think he would be staying on Yamaha after this race? (Maybe I picked up on something that wasn’t there though) Any rumors as to his plans for next year?

2 Americans in top 10 after stage 1B, just not the ones you would expect.

Photo

Benavides P14
Short P19
Price P22
Brabec P35

Still a lot of racing left.

From Skyler's IG. Sounds like a lot of guys got lost today.

Rough start for many big names (bikes and cars). Ricky was leading and lost around 50 mins. Worse, Sainz lost 2 hours, ouch.

|

Dakar is wild and I've never cared before listening to the pulp mx pod with brabec and shorty... but color me interested now. With that said, I've been watching stuff on red bull TV about it is pretty cool

Petrucci is out with a mechanical failure, he was going really well for some who just retired from moto gp. Hopefully he comes back next year.

High drama so far! I love me some Dakar!

The "yo-yo" seems to be back in swing this year with tricky navigation.

Impressive outing so far by Mason Klein, I hope he can keep it on 2 wheels and get a solid finish under his belt.

I expect Brabec to use a "calmer" strategy for a few days to get himself back in contention. I think he learned his lesson last year and he knows that he needs to make up small chunks of time instead of taking big swings and then having to lead out and lose time.

Lots of racing to go!

He is only out of the final classification. He's still riding after repairing his bike overnight. He placed 22nd today.

So you can continue even your bike is airlifted to service park?

|

1/4/2022 3:03 AM

Yes, he is continuing to gain experience even though he will no longer be classified in the final results.
