Definitely disappointing news. Sure was cheering him on. Hoping Shorty can get a top 10 this year.

Yep, several shots of him in the highlight video yesterday taking his right hand off the bars to rest it.

Price is an animal.

He has some serious motivation though. Has a bet running with Laia Sanz. If he finishes top 5 he gets to kiss her for 5 seconds. Classic Toby, making moves on and off the bike hahaha

Jesus some people are shit. Meanwhile, the dude was cheating...

Look at some of these translations of comments on Toby's IG:

thiagovieytes
I hope you fall off the motorcycle and lose the dakar by the piece of fucking button

rodribassaga
TOBY YOU ARE A PERSON NO T PLEASANT IN ARGENTINA. YOU WERE WRONG WITH KEVIN BENAVIDEZ AND THAT WE WILO NO T FORGIVE YOU. YOU ARE A SON OF A THOUSAND WHORES, A TRAITOR AND BAD LOSER. IN THIS DAKAR YOU WILL FAIL AS A SON OF THOUSAND WHORE YOU ARE. YOU WILL NO T BE THE NUMBER ONE BASTARD. THE NUMBER ONE IS KEVIN BENAVIDEZ?

juanpiriz11
You shit to Benavidez son of a bitch that's not done, you win on the track not in the office

montalbantomi924
Very bad your unsportsmanlike attitude .. @ tobyprice87 you knew that Kevin could break the KTM streak .. we go HONDA.

The euros very much want this race to stay won by a european this has been documented plenty of times including when toby was given misinformation by organisers about the days times. he would later break his leg purely because he was pushing hard based on incorrect information

Wrong. ASO (organiser) would love an US rider to win it and put light on a race nobody gives a shit in the US... and that is losing steam in Europe also.

Man, rough year for Honda. Lose 2 guys that are in the lead when they go out and then have a dude get caught blatantly cheating.

It'd be f'n awesome to see Price pull it off, dude has put in a hero effort to make it this far. I'm fearful if he does pull it off that this could be it for him and bikes though....

On the bright side, if he went to 4 wheels that'd open up a spot on KTM for Brabec to take....I thought the Pulp show was pretty telling when Shorty was explaining how KTM has dominated by working as a team, he basically pointed out their superiority over all the other teams and Brabec didn't even really argue with him about it.

Now Sunderland has been penalized an hour for purposely damaging his GPS yesterday so that he could get it fixed and wouldn't have to lead out the stage.

Dang it, van Beveren really needs to win now. That KTM streak is lasting way too long.
I think I jinxed it. van Beveren has also blown up his engine today...... Gonna be a KTM fest once again. or maybe Husky.

this is a VERY cool article about Dakar history from the American perspective.

Great read.

That was an awesome read. Gypsy tales podcast has two really good ones with toby price about the dakar and what goes on for the rider through the event.

whoa - is that confirmed? I saw he was penalized, but I hadn't read that. He does talk a bit about how winning the stage where he stopped to help one of the Honda guys messed up his strategy, because he had to lead out the next day.

Once they get a lead, they definitely don't want to be the physical leader on the day it seems...

I'm sooooo bummed about Brabec's engine failing...
