Okay...not being an insider, is this the main change?? Please explain, 500, in detail.

"12:00pm - 12:20pm Motocross Lites Timed Qualifying Group B (10 min. free / 10 min. timed)

12:25pm - 12:45pm Motocross Lites Timed Qualifying Group A (10 min. free / 10 min. timed)"

This part???

Oh, yeah, I feel rude that I never posted, how much I enjoyed our brief chat at A3, during practice. And a 500guy decal, to boot! I wore it on my cap, for ten days in Maui, following A3.

i think the main change he is talking about is the consolation races on saturday instead of sunday. That way the privateers who have to race the consi to get in don't have to race twice on sunday.

So, MX2 Group B always goes first? hmmm. Seems fair.

Thanks.

Ya group B going first is a change, along with the first practice being split between "free" and "timed". The first practice used to not mean anything

Good for privateers incase there's a money race within driving distance on Sundays.

I wish they'd go back to racing for spots instead or running seemingly endless practices from a fan standpoint. For the racers, time is prob best incase of first turn crash or some jerk punting you off the track while he's outta control...

Does the Outdoors give the MX class provisionals like the SX class does?

Hey JimiJ yes it was a pleasure meeting you at Anaheim.

On the changes 1st the moved everything up one Hr to allow for the Consi's on Saturday.

That did alot of things , the seeded riders and qualified riders are done an hour earlier that will make them happy,
The guy's in the Consi will know if they are racing Sunday before they leave on Saturday.

The WMA gets a better spot for Moto #2 on Sunday

is it perfect ? No However I think it's a good change and a good sign that AMA and NPG want to make adjustments as they go and not just tell people to F**k Off like the old extremely large guy would do.

Why are they making changes after the season is already started?

I liked the WMA moto 2 being part of the program because they called the race on RacerX Webcast. Sad

Sorry if it's not ,
No worries.
Maybe the track will be better, not sure about that. Hangtown last week was pretty hammered when they rode on it. I heard a lot of whining in the pits about how bad the track was then the girls went out and raced on it after they had finished.
I still think its nice to have the girls be part of the show, not be finished before 30% of the people get there.

Who knows it could help their autograph signing, that happens Sunday afternoon, by fans going up and talking to them after they have seen their race.
Could be good.
At least they still race Sunday.

I agree. I just wish the races were longer motos instead of those short 4 lappers like they had.

I know this makes too much sense for them to use, but why dont they have practice and take the top 24 non seeded riders to sunday. Then they have a consi race that takes 6.

So,
10 seeded
24 unseeded
6 from consi

40 riders.

Not sure but I think the 5 was a typo

it has been that way 10-12-12 & 6 = 40

Someone asked about the Provisional ? Since the top 10 are seeded there is no need for Provisionals.

I also heard the Past Champions rule is no more, Everyone has to qualify

Yeah 12-12 from each practice, not from overall times. Some riders have been qualifying with slower times than the other practice.

They solved that by alternating the top 20 in points along with the top 40 in points

11-13-15 ect in one practic
12-14-16 in the other

I think it's ok because the track is never the same from one group to the next.

Ok well scratch that LOL

I guess it's the fastest 35 no matter what group you are in and take 5 in the consi.

Hell I can't keep track , guess we will see how it all shakes out.

Youthstream and the FIM would have had it figured out before the season got started instead of just making it up as they go along.
